| Should Saints ditch Friday night rugby in favour of Sunday afternoons?
I for one would prefer Sundays as Fridays are a push to get too from finishing work and Sundays would give away fans a better chance to visit to best non-cladded rugby stadium in Superleague?
What say you

| From a personal pov it doesn't bother me now that I am retired. However, I've always maintained that the local games be played on Friday but the inter county games be played on Saturday or Sunday.
The majority of people who are working find the M62 journey on Friday night a real pain.

| Personally I prefer Friday night rugby. Although I do agree with Rogues that when playing Clubs where fans have a distance to travel it makes more sense to have those games on a Sunday.
I do like the fact though that our games being on a Friday night means the chances of home games being moved for Sky are less!

i for one would prefer Saturday or Sunday,as my wife & i travel from the darkside of the Pennines & as Rogues says it a pain in the ar** for travel on the M62 atbout 3pm to about 5ish as the wife does not fininsh her work till about 4pm.But as Sky pays the money they will have the say so.Could Saints live without the money with non tv matches.

| I prefer Fridays from the point of view it allows me to plan ahead.
If we went to Sunday then people would find that half the fixtures got moved to friday anyway due to Sky. .
IF we know all our fixtures are on a friday then people who work friday can arrange for holidays on the fixture dates to ensure they get to games. This is something i have had to do this year at Widnes.
Imagine if 2 weeks before a match is due to be played, the sunday fixture was changed to Friday. This is something Sky can do, and it would cause uproar with many fans then not able to get to games due to work.

| I think a mix would be good. We should play those teams with furthest to travel on a Sunday and the rest on a Friday. This gives chance for the maximum number of fans of those teams to visit us, thus boosting income, and gives those home fans who find Friday night a struggle to attend a match without problems.

| Friday nights for me.
Couple of pints before, one or two at the game and a few after.
I'm recently retired, so no problems with away travel.
Sunday afternoon is for family, roast beef lunch, kip in the armchair then Man Utd on Sky.

| The question is how many extra fans would a sunday pull in and would it compensate for the loss of home fans?
I understand the liking for away fans on a sunday. But home fans playing on a Friday means that you have the whole weekend free. A friday night probably has least impact on home fans in terms of oppertunity for attendance. Work. Food. Kids if you have young uns to bed. If not time for a pint and then down to the match. Still leaving time left after the match for a night out.
I also think Saints took into account corporate when switching to a friday. Getting corporate there on a friday after work is easier than getting people in on the two days off.

| I think Friday night games before May are largely horrendous. We move to summer to take advantage of the better weather and then play our games in the dark on a Friday night. It means the kids turn up for the games half asleep and you sit there freezing yourself to death.
The new stadium is going to be a weird experience. I will not be going to any friendlies so the first game will be on a Friday in early February no doubt. Cold, wet and dark. Brrrr.

| Friday nights for me. With Sunday afternoon games it pretty much takes up my whole day. having to set off at 12 and not getting back until 8ish.

| Friday nights for me, and given some of the attendances of recent Sunday games, most other Saints fans too.

| Definately Fridays for me, finish work (and whilst it can sometimes be a pain crossing pennines on M62 Fridays at 5pm) go watch Saints and then the rest of the weekend is free to do whatever I want to. Sundays would be a bad move imo
