| Alright job done. We won and providing we have no injuries from tonight we look good. Alright neither team played well but I feel we have sealed 4th and now we can push for 3rd.
I noticed Pryce had what IMO we have been missing....great organizing skills, from the moment he came on he was organizing everything. Dont get me wrong J-Lo and Gaskell have done a sterling job, but neither if them are natural organizers. If we can get Leon a new deal (doubtful, but i would love) and he can stay fit, we would get much more attacking prowess out of the halfs.
And Kyle yet again did well, at least the effort was there..in places, why he couldnt do this early on in the season i dont know
Although its not all good, there are positives there.....always look on the brightside!

| we beat the team thats done the double over Wigan, lets not put ourselves down. Leon looked very good in his first game back. Meli looked to be walking very gingerly at times, but caused Cats alot of problems. Roby, as ever was awesome

I dont care what people say about Rangi Chase or George Carmont there both great but its a f if Robes continues this form and doesnt get MOS
And Pryce also strengthened the left which tonight for us was really poor. Hope he can stay fit!

| I was uneasy on who was going to win this match in that first 60 mins. When Pyrce came on the team looked better balanced, twice in attack Pyrce put in the delayed pass causing doubt in the catalans defence. An in form Pryce and Eastmond ready for the playoffs could put our season back on track, let's hope our injury jinx is over.

| My mate and I had the same conv. Pryce pointed out the gaps and the young guys took advantage.
Defo start Pryce at FB next week. He'll come into the line at the right time and cause carnage.
Eastmond has proven what we have been missing at full back in the last two games. The easy yards he makes is the difference between us; Wigan and Warrington.

| Thought our right side of defence was terrible all night - every time they attacked down that side they loaded up with 2 extra player (don't know why we didn't see that?) and looked like they could score at will.
Fortunately their comedy goal kicking kept us in front.
Gaskell, shenton, wilkin, sia and to a lesser extent makinson missed a lot of tackles. The huge Cats definately targeted poor old gaskell.
On the plus side when scotty moore came on in the first half, he steadied the ship - he's a must for LF. And when pryce replacing gaskell, not only did he spice up the attack, he also organised the right hand defence better.
Made up with the three points but thought the scoreline flattered us somewhat as we ran away with it in the last 10 mins.

I havent seen the game, but from what I heard on the radio, Eastmond was outstanding from fb, chiming in the line over and over again. If this was the case, why not leave him there, and start Pryce at 6? Problem comes when Wellens is fit again, would you now drop Eastmond for Wellens?

| I couldn't go the game last night and was gutted about it but the comments about pryce is what I've been banging on about now for the part 3 month.
I can't knock lomax or Gaskell but Leon is a different class, he is the organiser that we need and IMO the reason we can't best hudds, wigan and warrington. Players like pryce are the difference in the tight games.
If we can't get Leon on a new deal we have to get the experienced, ball playing halfback that can direct us around the pitch. IMO it's vital that we either sign Leon or replace him from outside the club as lance, lomax, wheeler and Gaskell don't have the that ability to direct us around the pitch.

He's played most of his career as a utility player, he broke into first grade as a rookie halfback, got switched to centre then has played the last 4 years as a fullback.
He's won the world cup and four nations with the kiwis as a fullback. He's had some outstanding games at fullback against the Aussies.

He was run over in defence on the goal line though, which is Eastmond's weakness. So while we benefited from his pace, we lost out from his lack of defensive strength. Swings and roundabouts I guess. But Kyle certainly did look like his old self again last night. Always busy, carrying the ball well. He has amazing control of the ball. Damn shame he's going to union. His skills so fit RL.

I agree, even with all that crap this year involving Kyle he's still one of the best young players in rugby league.

The difference Pryce made last night was in his presence. The whole team clicked and calmed down when he came on. Simmons timed his entrance to perfection as we were just starting to crumble: missing tackles, letting them run too much, etc. We needed a steady hand, a thinker and one who had experience. We were a different team in those last 20 minutes. What a difference an experienced halfback makes.
Whether we would have not dropped ball with him on the pitch is another matter though, and it was our dropping ball which lost us the Warrington match. Hudds - we just had too many noobs on the pitch and Wigan pulverised us in the forwards.
Man are our forwards weak. When did James Graham last push in the tackle? He goes down immediately he is tackled. And he always runs sideways. We desperately need aggressive forwards. Bring back Ade! He might not be a forward but he sure gives us all the advantages of one when he's on the pitch!

| I agree with you saintsfan and pryce is very very important to saints. If he goes next year we will be a much weaker team.
Pryce also does alot of work in defence which goes unnoticed. We've missed him big time!
Sir mac, get him signed now!

| For me LMS, Roby and Graham was the good part of our game providing the momentum.
When Sia went off, Shenton looked exposed with Gaskell and Makinson either side of him, Menzies took full advantage of it to set up and score some tries. Wilkin tried to correct the situation but failed because Menzies was too good for him.
I would imagine next week we will be a bit more organized with Pyrce getting more game time, Eastmond to stay at full back next week despite his weakness in defence because his threat joining the attacking line is a major threat to the opposition.

We don't have crap backs.
And last night we missed a fit Wello in defence on our goal line. Eastmond may bring pace and skill into our attack but that is only half the battle and he is vulnerable on the goal line, although I was glad of his effort.

Maybe crap was a little harsh. We have average backs that struggle to beat a man.

I keep reading this, but I don't think Kyle was at fault for any of the tries. No full back in the world would've stopped vaccarri from so close, and the try from the scrum wasn't his fault either.
A link up of lomax, Pryce and eastmond looked pretty amazing I thought
