Oh come on, did you not enjoy that game? Our defense was probably the best it's been all season tonight. Graham isn't a spent force, he was just knackered after an hour and should have been spelled, but hey ho we don't have a proper squad with enough forwards so he couldn't be.

Eastmond? Apart from being Kyle Eastmond what did he do wrong? I thought he looked more in control and more dangerous in his 8 or so minutes than the other two did for 72 minutes.

Foster. No one is going to beat King to that. We need to smarten up on kick defense. Pressuring the kick for once is the first thing, then as soon as the kicks goes up, Meli AND Foster should bump into each other right in front of King and stop him. Just put your body in his way and accept the consequences. If penalised fine, it's better than a try. The dropped ball from him tonight wasn't good to see, but he's a young winger. We saw Meli do it last week. Until the club can sign some proper outside backs he's the best we've got and is more than capable of playing wing at a top SL club.

Perry. Did okay I thought. Tackled well and trundled a few in. You have to wonder about his fitness but if we could get him into the side on a prolonged basis he looks as though he could be a good player. I feel sorry for all the boys in the pack as we're one short and have been for about four years.

A true synopsis is this. A bloody fantastic effort by all of them ruined by a lack of composure when it mattered. We didn't respect the ball or field position and knocked on first tackle in the Wire 20 about four times. Wire never do that. It's down to composure, our halves panic when it gets tough. It's because they are young and inexperienced. You change Briers and Myler for Gaskell and Lomax tonight and we win the game, simple as that. Throw Leon Pryce into that side and we win the game. Such a frustrating season as there is clearly potential there, but just about everything that could go against us does.

I'm not sure the second half of that is a 100% true. But the first half, yes, we are, his name is Paul Clough.

You are the type of fan that gives the rest a bad name. I went to the game and enjoyed the banter with your fans before, during and after the game. To a man they were magnanimous in defeat, and were glad to have witnesed an outstanding game. They were a credit to your team, stayed 'till the end and applauded the team off (unlike Wigan). Rightly so, due to the fantastic effort the players put in.

Can I just add; Tony Puletua was the best player on the pitch for me tonight. Does he play like that every week? WOW!

Yup. He's a good un. You see why we were so appauled to see you were sniffing around and offering him bribes to join you. But fortunately for us TP is more of a Gaga fan than a Take That fan so even the offer of tickets from Moran didn't work.

Well there was effort and comitment tonight,to come back after a bad start showded character.In the end though as has been mentioned a veteran halfback was the difference,Gaskell did well to recover after such a bad start and will of learned some valuable lessons tonight.I thought there were some 50/50 calls that could of gone our way but overall allthough we lost there are a lot of possitives to come out of it.

I went to the match. Our attitude was 100% better tonight. However, three things are still undermining us: our poor defence, our poor ball control and our tendency to lose composure when things drift away from the game plan.

And thirdly, can I just really abuse Meli for his atrocious defence tonight? Where the fook was he when Foster rolled King? He should have been in bloody support! Fancy leaving Foster, a sprig, to deal with King on his tod.

PS: Meli irritated me tonight.

A better start, and a bit of luck and we win that game. A young halfback combination and we are there or there abouts. How anyone can say something negative about the props after that effort is beyond me.

Im assuming when you say when Foster rolled King you mean they try King scored ? if so then Meli was were he was supposed to be and thats in the defensive line.The other defensive issue was a 50/50 call imo and ive seen them dissallowed.

He also made a totally dumb pass to Foster when clearly Foster was about to go into touch. Meli's an international. He should have known better.

However, I stayed until the end and clapped the lads off, singing all the way. I thought our attitude was 100% better. If they can carry that forward and work on the defence, composure and ball control (the two latter aspects may be linked) then we have a hope of making something of this extremely disrupted season. I just hope the lads don't let this defeat get them down. They mustn't let their heads drop.

I agree there are only a few things we need to work on to be more consistent, I'd also add that we need to have a better plan b in attack, I'm tired of the drop off pass we persist with trying, I really don't see the point of dropping a pass back to the man inside just so he can run straight into the three defenders that we have just bypassed and are essentially lined up ready to tackle you!? We gain 0 yardage and fool no one. I can't wait until (touches wood) Leon comes back and he does his greedy little shoulder drop ever now and again, at least it is something different!

I agree. I have a theory about that. I don't think our halves can cope with much else! I think a simple game plan was thought out back when we played Leeds away in order to facilitate our rookies and we have been unable to move on from that because of the subsequent disruption through injuries.

In addition, we lack original thinkers out there. We have no potential Longys. If either Pryce or Wheeler had been out there, play would have been varied as those two are thinkers.

I'm not entirely sure I agree, I think both Lomax and Gaskell have the potential to be that kind of player, Lomax especially. I wonder whether our game-plan is currently too ridged based on either the fear of things going wrong, the coaching staff not knowing what those two are exactly capable of, or perhaps even our over-reliance on Roby's ability to break the field from dummy half. I think had we had a run of games against 'easy' opponents similar to the 4 games recently, at this stage of the season I think we may have seen Lomaskell given a bit more 'artistic license' at this stage of the season.
