This was on GMR phone in last week, no big surprise at a time of economic uncertanty they don't raise the cap. IL was on and he said that raising the cap would benefit the players, but not the clubs as current players would just want pay rises that the clubs would have to fund from where exactly?
My position on the cap is that i believe it should be 50% of turnover, which has its downsides, but no solution is perfect.

What they fail to realise is we have two very wealthy backers. We just seek to make the club a profitable business and run it as such. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with that, and what all clubs should be seeking to do.

Exactly - Its all well and good crying about not being able to bring in someone like Lockyer because they wouldn't fit him under the current cap, if they hadn't thrown so much money at several lesser 'names' who proved to be mediocre they could have bought one big player a la Lockyer in and allowed the kids to develop 'live' alongside just him.
