| Quote ="bewareshadows"If Lance is playing in the halfs next year, people will give up before we get started. I'm all for giving a new guy time to settle in, but I think we have seen the maximum that Lance is capable of at Halfback and whilst it's a good effort, it's not good enough, not due to his lack of effort, just a lack of ability. Slot him else where and he'll be fine. But we need to re jumble the players into proper positions not make shift roles.
Then fill the holes that are left.'"
Lance is a fullback who can do a job in other positions when needed , sadly we've just wasted a load of cap space signing a bloke to masquerade as our fullback for next year

There are also dozens and dozens more players in the NRL who could do a great job for us too. Let's sign some of them up, eh?
Oh I forgot, we can't... =#FF0000[iBecause our quota spaces are all full[/i..... Go find me a Saints quality organising half and a big gnarly prop that are available without a fee and =#FF0000that aren't ****ing well Australian and I'll agree with you wholeheartedly that we aren't doing enough recruitment-wise right now.

Seen him in 2 games, raw with lots of potential. Reminds me of Burgess, likes to score trys, best part of his game crash tackles.
Hopefully, gets up to superleague standard very quickly.
Think there is a couple of clips on Utube or the club web site.

So most on here are praying we sign him on the basis someone seen him play twice and the few min clip on YouTube?

Ive never seen him play so I'm not passing comment on how good he is, it would be silly as I've yet to see him play.
I was just making comment due to the fact most on here certainly want him and seem to really rate him but nobody seen him play.
I hope he's a world beater!

Looking at his stats he probably is. I'm not sure it's worth forking out a quota spot for that.

I think we have signed him, last Sunday I believe. At 6' 5' and 16s 10lb, fairly quick and agressive certainly got the attributes.
Highly rated if you search around the web sites. On the club radar last 6 months i believe, just finished a degree so he,s no Fozzard.

| If he is an impact prop that's another hole filled, we've not really had an impact prop for some time now. I'm thinking Fasavalu.

Now maurie was a real impact prop.
LMS has provided impact from the bench this year, not the sort that maurie or Vila brought but he does lift us when he comes on with his aggression.
I think LMS was in our top 3 players this year.

Well there is always that young winger at London we are looking at....

The quota problem is easy to solve, it involves a Boeing 747. Not sure an impact player is what we need but there are plenty of other props out there.
Warmsley, Greenwood and Forster should improve things next year either way. But with some of the dead wood in the squad at the moment it is hard to see how they are going to get a look in.

Yup, read that on the rumours thread. Any idea what the dual reg is about? Why would he benefit more playing for them than us?

Dixon looks the better winger from what little I have seen.

Understand McManus is not pushing him too quickly, part time at first and still dual reg with Batley. Then he wants the lad to live over this side of the pennines sometime in the season. Don,t know which part of the season he is expected to show, others might be able to confirm.

| So we've now got 5 senior props + Walmsley.
I'd say this means the end of the road for Magennis who, imo, has struggled to physically compete against SL packs. Back up will come for the 3 promising junior props Walker,Hand and Forster, from which I'd expect one of to go on Dual Reg next year.

Possibly, although we have to remember that next year is the last year for TP and Perry, so this maybe thinking ahead more. I still think Magennis will need to improve, but it's not nessasarily the end. Effectively he's got a year to get it right, I think Forster has 2 years to make an impact. If neither can match it then we maybe looking to sign another prop next year.

I've only seen him once I think at the home game against Wakey. He may have had other bit roles, but that was the one where I noticed him. A big lad and goes in hard. In a way this year although it may have been magennis chance to shine, his lack of air time has been hampered the same way Gaskell, Foster, Ashe etc have. We have gone with tried and tested since Royce, that's not a critism, it is what we needed to stop the rot. But under the circumstances where performance does not count, just experience. What else can they do??
I think Magennis has 1 year left on contract doesn't he?

He looked like he had the making of at least ebing a decent yard winner and seemed much more capable of driving against a Super league pack compared to Magennis who, whilst i don't question his commitment, is consistantly stopped short and put on his back.

| Magennis is not good enough at prop, I'd have let him go before Dixon myself.
Forster needs to make an impact within 2 years? He's only 20, progressing to a regular bench player will bench player within that time will be enough for me.
I'd also agree with the comment about stopping the rot, but that was stopped after a month. The lack of progression since then has hampered the club and the progression of youngsters within the squad for me. A situation that I hope will be rectified next year.
