Shenton and pace? He reminds me of a poor mans Martin Gleeson and he is way over rated.

To me it sems Saints want to shed some weight off their salary cap and Shenton seems to fit the bill at the moment.

He doesn't seem a Saints kind of signing to me.

Shenton I'd like to see here, but he has Leeds written all over him. Natural successor to Keef Ebay Senior if ever there was one.

Owen would have been a good signing, but IMO you can't take on a guy who's had 4 operations on a double leg break without seeing him return to decent form and athleticism.

I thought Senior was signing a new 1 year deal?

I think he is over-rated, vastly.

I like both Shenton and Owen, both young lads with bags of pace and potential. Not sure we'd sign Owen with Lomax coming through though.

We looked average in the centres when Senior was playing. We've looked average over our whole backline for years.

Let's hope things are now changing, with the young guys coming through. Maybe a team or two will unearth some gifted English centres who can do the job well. As a sport we have neglected developing the position for way too long in favour of importing Aussies.

As for Owen, he is one of the best young players in he league and was unlucky not to be in the England squad last year. I think he is worth a punt dispite his injury.

The downside in terms of Shenton is, Senior, even in his advancing years, is still a much better centre than Shenton!

Dont think Shenton is any big signing. Not a huge fan, dont think he is stand out. Maybe a move to a clb like ours propels him onto greatness ? But in all the years he has been about, I have never once thought " this lad is class, and should be in the redvee tomorrow" . Senior still the best brit centre out there, sad to say as he is 423 years old, with an addiction to trampy women with fake boobies.

Shents I hope moves on to better things, as I say, its no "WOW" signing for me. Josh Perry is a more mouth watering signing.

Perry once confirmed after the origin series is a colossal signing, a current Aussie international that will form the best front row in the league by a distance - Graham Roby Perry.

Shenton is a big rangy centre with much needed pace and more importantly British and young with bags of potential. In a better side than Cas he will only improve especially when he fills out. I recall Gleeson signing from Huddsfield, probably less well known certainly not an international with the build of Peter Crouch. He didn't turn out to be too bad a player.

Excellent business if both can be acquired.
