As for Owen leaving Castleford - any club would be taking a gamble on a full recovery from a shocking double leg break, but if he can get back to full fitness he is a very talented prospect indeed

Owen is a top prospect, BUT it's a risk after that horrific injury, look how long it's took Karl Pryce to get back to anything like where he should be, and he's still a fair way to go.

You know about how I was told about Eastmond (going to Rugby Union) I explained it at the time, and have no intention of going through the story again except to re-iterate that it was someone who I didn't know who approached me in front of a few people including my Saints supporting son in law, and the son of a former Lance Todd winner.

Most people in the RL world think Shenton is signing for Saints. Don't try and take the plaudits if the deal comes off!

Would he not just place a block on the progression of the likes of Lomax and Foster? He looks to need just as much coaching to me.

Your comment did tickle me, mate. Saints are a massive club, and probably about to knock Leeds of their perch this season and for the coming seasons for that matter. Not to mention new ground etc etc.

I'm pretty certain that if Owen did sign for you it wouldn't be for the reasons of a free lift!

If there was any way of picking Owen up on low money until he proved he was back to fitness (a year with a years option maybe), then by all means take the chance as he was a terrific talent. I imagine he will stay at Cas though.
