That match on Good Friday was the first game he refereed at this level. Previously he had been a touch judge in League 1. Since this photo was taken, he may well have lost a beard, but even so positioning is key:

Third Oxford game. The previous two were both against Coventry this season (for details of the second see Michael Mannifield above). Was a touch judge in last year’s BARLA cup final.
Touch Judge: Joe Turner (Castleford and Featherstone)
He was reserve referee for Oxford’s League 1 Shield trip to the All Golds last season, and also a touch judge for our warm-up match at London Broncos earlier this year. In this photo he is the one on the left. He won the 2017 Referee of the Year award for the College and University game (not completely sure if this photo is for another award, though).
Reserve Referee: James Collins (Midlands)
First Oxford game. He was the 2012 Midlands Rugby League match official of the year. This is the only picture I could find:
Match Commissioner: Darren Hayes (South West)
A regular at Oxford games because although he is originally from Widnes, he now lives in Royal Wootton Bassett. Last time was for the victory over Hemel this season. Is also a Conference League South referee. Six years ago he refereed the West of England conference final with his two sons as the touch judges.
