| It has just struck me watching tonight's game that it is more than possible that Ryan Bailey could win another SL Ring if Wire go on to win the GF.
Loads of folk on here like him, loads don't but if he does where would that put him in the all time ring winners league table?

| Don't know how many rings he has (one is enough for me) but was very solid again tonight for Warrington. Agile for a big man, works hard from marker and fearless hitting it up. Just very solid player.

| I think it's....
Peacock - 9
Sinfield, Burrow, McGuire - 7
Bailey, Ablett, Leuluai - 6
Hall, Kirke, Lauitiiti - 5
Bailey would join that group on 7 as he missed out on 2015. JJB is either 6/7 depending on whether you include him for 2015, he obviously didn't play in the GF but will have gotten one of the extra rings. (Likewise Hall was 18th man in 2007 so could claim 6 rings in that case)

4
3 with Bradford, only 1 with Saints in 2006....I believe they lost a few GF's after that though.
Think Pryce, Wellens, Roby, Graham, Wilkin and Meli share the record of most GF losses with 5 although May have missed someone.
Won in '01, '03, '05 (Bradford) and '06 (Saints)
Lost in '99, '02, (Bradford) '07, '08, '09 (Saints)
Missed the 2004 GF loss to Leeds whilst with Bradford and the 2010 & 2011 GF losses to us and Wigan respectively whilst with Saints otherwise his record could've been even worst, but he would've overtaken Peacock's record of 11 GF's appearance had he not missed them.

| I think Pryce would be the first player to win a GF with 3 different teams though if Hull win the GF this year.
Lee Gilmour won with Wigan in 98 and Saints in 2006. Whilst he was with Bradford in the early 00's he didn't play in the '01 & '03 wins but did play in the 2002 loss.

Lee Gilmour also lost in five GF's

2007, 2008, 2009 with St Helens

Earlier you just need to add Wellens to the group on five wins. Other than that appears sound to me.

In terms of worst losing records in multiple appearances I have Terry Newton, Chris Flannery and Matt Gidley all at 0-4....you think of anymore? Plenty of Saints guys like the ones mentioned above have bad ones but at least had the 2006 success.

| Can I think of anymore? No, but I have well maintained spreadsheets to save me having to.
The only one you're missing from the 0 from 4 group is Paul Clough 08, 09, 10, 11 all for St Helens obviously.
0 from 3 - Brett Dallas, Bryn Hargreaves and Tony Puletua
0 from 2 - 29 players

| Oops, can't really claim that as a typo Sam. I have the losers listed a couple of columns away from the year and I'll have accidentally picked up the wrong one there. I'll check and correct the wrong post soon.

Nope he was still with Wigan those years who didn't reach the 1999 final but they did lose to Saints in the 2000 final. He moved to Bradford at the start of the 2001 season.

Just to correct the above: the Gilmour GF Losses were for -
2000 - Wigan (sub)
2002 - Bradford (sub)
2007, 2008, 2009 - St Helens
Gilmour also won in two GF's:
1998 - Wigan
2006 - St Helens

| Tony Smith:
“It gives an opportunity for Ryan Bailey to step up and for Jordan Cox to come back into the squad, Benjamin Jullien will start this week and Sam Wilde will come into the squad so it’s a chance for those boys to put their best foot forward.
“Ryan did a good job for us last week, to keep his discipline against his former club shows he’s capable of it and it’s earned him a shot at starting this week.”

| Ryan Bailey always had it in him, just needs quality coaching to help bring it out. Smith immediately gave him the coveted number 8 at Leeds in 2004 (up from 19) but he had to keep earning it after that.

| It seems the wire fans have taken to him already despite the universal derision to his signing on their board. i thought that would be the case if he did knuckle down, he was always a good rotation prop when you took the nonsense away and that was all that the opposition fans tended to remember him for unfortunately.

| Reading the Wire board and looking at their options in the pack for next season made me think if Bailey was surplus to requirements would it be a good move to have him back?
He looked to be on form from the game he played in last week.
No more injury worries, plenty of experience and still only 31.
Thoughts?

Early days, made a good start.
I know Cooper is coming back, but might be a signing if they know Chris Hill going possibly.
I'd like to see him retain his place in the Wire 17 and prosper at Warrington under Tony Smith.

| True bloodbath it is early days.
But he does seem much fitter and wants to play for TS and possibly prove himself.
I was impressed how he ran the ball in and he tackled pretty well too although his defence wasa bit wayward at times.
Like you say early days but we all know he does what he wants.
