| With how his game has developed over the few years he has been at Leeds and our lack of options going forward in the prop department, does anyone else think this could be his next move? He has no passing game to speak of but if you want a pound for pound player, he must be one of the best around. It makes since to me with the other options we have at the back row too. IMO he would be a good replacement for Kylie.

| He's not got the physical presence to be the new Kylie.
He reminds far more of JP, in physique & playing style.
They both make more yards going backwards than forwards!

| I didn't mean he's the new Kylie in style. I meant as Kylie is supposed to be retiring at years end, would Delaney to the front row be a good move to replace him as far as a metre maker and in experience.

| I think if Kylie finishes this year and I think he will,I think we will see Delaney playing prop more and more.

| I'm a big fan of BD and I think he'd do a job (his best effort anyway) no matter where he played. Doesn't get half the praise he deserves. As Brian Mc said in his post match interview on Friday night....'I wish I had 13 Brett Delaneys on the pitch....you can't say more than that.

We've not received any papers for this lad.

| I think he's perfectly suited to be the modern ball-carrying second rower. Allows him to use his footwork and strength to get over the top of defenders, while his mobility on the edges helps him defensively.
Stick him in the middle third of the field where he's continually running at guys his size or bigger and I think you lose a lot of what makes him such a good player.

| That's my worry but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the majority of his running fairly central anyway?

| I feel sure Delaney will end up playing prop in the same way JP did. In fact I suggested this some time ago (along with nantwich...... and yes we did for once agree ) I think Big Mac seems to have a game plan where the prop duties are shared out amoung the back rowers too. He certainly wants his 100 per on the field for the most minutes and I understand why.

From the games I have seen he certainly appears to do alot of central running. He strikes me as the type of bloke who relishes the physical hard aspect of the game.
At first I was sceptical about him playing prop but I can certainly see him playing prop and doing a good job

Maybe that is why Delaney took a lazy play on the Farrell try, due to fatigue. Otherwise he had an immense game so that observation is probably more a criticism of his coach than the player.

| Keep him in the BR for me and promote Bailey to starting Prop and IF we aren't still wondering what to do with Singleton use him or sign a sh##-house specialist FR.

Did we not also concur that McDermott is a fabulous coach who is not blinkered in his pecking order selections and uses his bench rotation superbly?

At the time being I think he will stay in the BR, but eventually as he ages move to prop. But for next season I would move David Haye (bailey) to starting prop

JJB seems to be McDermott's favourite at the moment for moving up to prop at every opportunity. Next season could be very interesting......

I know for a fact he doesn't like being used as a prop or as a LF for that matter, and personally don't like him at prop at all. Personally I would rather we use props and blood some of the younger props in some games rather than putting square pegs in round holes.

Then we are in total agreement ........the same principle IMO should also apply to wingers and fullbacks

And Paul Gallen, arguably the best backrower come prop of the 3.
Also, as I remember, Luke Lewis, the current Aussie starting second row started life as a winger in the NRL and maybe even played for Australia there too. I know he was definitely picked in the '04 tri nations squad when he played wing.

As perhaps would Keith (or was is it Kevin?) Rayne
Delaney has every conceivable chance of joining such esteemed company IMO
