| Based on last night's abject performance it should be a long time before he puts a first team jersey on again.
Woeful would be an understatement.

| He was poor last night and potentially played his way out of the world challenge team. Shame thought he looked really strong Pre season but did have a very poor game last night, hopefully just a bliP

| The team needs to establish some dominance up front before going out wide so i would bring in Richard Moore to add some go forward play, Hauraki has never been any good.

| I was all over the place the day after my kid was born too. Perhaps the sensible thing would have been not to select him this week. In general he's been looking a much-improved player.

| Agree Tad/Ci.
I also think that Clarkson should start every time he's in the 17 and if selected Hauraki is a bench BR every time for me.
Another selection i think our coach got wrong this week but i'm not gonna start kicking off just my opinion on last night.

| Sal ,imo i thought he finished the season strong and was a tad unlucky to miss the GF plus he's looked stronger and sharper in pre-season and was'nt that bad last week.
Saying that i can see where yer coming from even if i don't think he's as bad as you do and tehre's no doubt he needs to improve but for me i think he will and as someone pointed out his missus has literally just dropped and maybe he shouldn't of played.

| I thought he looked like he could become a decent impact backrower off the bench over the last few games/end of last year. Probably has played himself out of the WCC as I thought Clarkson played half decent when he came on. In his defence he was playing centre, thought it would have seemed more sense to move Delaney there.

He should only ever be on the bench at best; Clarkson should start every time.

| Come On, apart from JJB everyone else was well of the pace yesterday. How can anyone claim Hauraki as played his way out of WCC on last nights game is beyond me. Working on this there will be sixteen changes next week.

Shouldn't the same be said about Webb.
"Brent Webb is blunderman, brent Webb is blunderman" the new SS chant for 2012.
BJB to full back asap.

Spot on mate Clarkson doesn't offer an 'Impact' from the bench and has to be a starter and like you say if we see Hauraki it should be from the Bench.

| Yeah, he was chronic last night (although hasn't his missus just given birth) so perhaps he can be forgives a lack of focus. Thought we were off the pace in all aspects last night, Wigan looked good and we err didn't.

| Didn't even think Hauraki was that bad last night. Sure he wasn't great, but who was? I'm not gonna go and start scapegoating players based on one performance there, but there were a few bigger names who were equally abject if not worse!

| Hauraki is certainly not a centre and it showed last night. However its harsh to be so hard on him when he is playing out of position behind a beaten pack.

Why not ?
We've got a strong enough squad these days with cover in many positions ... If we're an alleged championship winnable side, then there's no excuse of poor performances.
In terms of full back, we've got BJB, Lee Smith and Zak that can all cover that position and should be given a chance if the incumbent player has a shocker.
Do you want to go back to the situation we used to have before we were successful, when the likes of Franny Cummings & Co. were picked every week just because they were there and regardless of how they performed on the park week in, week out.
IMO, I thought it was a mistake to retain Webb, as we have adequate cover in his position and we perhaps could have better used that overseas space elsewhere. There's no point developing quality young replacements if you're going to have them kicking around in the A Team or on loan somewhere for years on end, if your coach / CEO hasn't got the bottle to shift off the old guard when they were long in the tooth.
In the great Wigan side of old, you were something very special to be retained beyond about 31 .... Remember they were ruthless when it came to getting rid of even their star players like Edwards, Hanley, Gregory etc. and there were always schmuck clubs knocking around like Leeds, who'd take those players off their hands gladly on the strength of past glories that they'd be unlikely to repeat on a regular basis going forward.

| I thought Hauraki was a poor signing. I've not seen anything to make me change my mind so far, and I don't base that on last nights performance. A mediocre back row forward, we have that postion at the club adequately covered without him.

If the Rhinos don't include Hauraki in the first 17 on a regular basis should we be carrying him as he is filling up an overseas quota place and I asssume getting decent pay? If that was the case could we facilitate a player exchange for someone who would add quality to the squad?

Up until Friday night I was still convinced that Webb was our better option at FB. In the pre-season and against KR I though we were getting glimpses of a pre-injury Webb.
I still believe that Webb can offer more than the youngsters at this point but if, and only if, he continues to put in as poor as a display that we were privy to on Friday then I would be prepared to drop him for for either Zak or BJB.
