| Bouncing ball is the key! You can tackle him in the air after the ball has bounced. Just not whilst under a high ball. I think the ref can also judge what is a high ball too.

| I wasn't sure if that was a rule or not. But if it does exist it's a stupid one. Why is being tackled whilst jumping for a high ball that hasn't bounced any more dangerous than jumping for one that has?

Its more a ruling so that the player doesnt jump off the ground solely with the intention of making himself protected by the tackle, if the tackle is effected in a dangerous way there are other rules to fall back on.

| No idea on the law regarding that type of incident but I agree with Bentham's interpretation of whatever the law might be.
It wasn't Jones-Bishop's most assured performance, though he never went in to hiding following the numerous uncertain moments, not that St Helens would allow him to anyway.

| Pretty sure it was commented on by the Sky commentary and mentioned that the ball bouncing negated the penalty for taking a player out in the air.

| I was expecting the penalty. Surely it is a safety issue tackling someone jumping so what difference does it make that the ball has bounced?

Agreed, but the officials on Saturday seemed to think they were the rules.
