| Shame for Disko, but on another point, giving the Bulls current plight, I wonder if Disko has yet realised that leaving Leeds for the Bulls has turned out to be a massive mistake for his career and his England RL ambitions?

You know, there is a serious case to be made for restricting usage of the internet to only those people with functioning brains - take a look at the comments on the linked-to page, they'd be in the remedial class if they lived in a cage full of chimps but the frightening thing is that they probably dress themselves in a morning and go outside into the big world all on their own, I don't know how it came to this.

I'm pretty sure he isn't really interested in playing for England any more. I think it was just a case of get a nice long contract until retirement. He's more bothered about his lettings company!

I readdressed the 'moronic Leeds fan' / 'normal Leeds fan' balance.

Does it really warrant a smiley face that Buderus's English career is massively overshadowed by Diskin's? Given your love of Buderus I'd have thought that would require a sad face?

| Very unfortunate news for Diskin and a tragedy for the aspirations of the Bradford Bulls this season. It'll probably mean Bradford will finish around 10th or 11th on the SL ladder now, instead of potentially finishing around 10th or 11th on the SL ladder.

I see what goes on on the pitch not how many medals someone has won on the back of other players - we will always agree to disagree - anyone who watches what is happening front of their eyes can see Buderus has never been overshadowed by any 9 in this comp least of all by Diskin.
He is a better player now - 5 years passed his best - than Diskin ever was.

On the back of others? He wasn't the Harry Sunderland Trophy winner in 2004, or one of the stand-out performers in the 2009 GF then?
I won't argue that Diskin is a better player than Buderus, but his accomplishments and contribution to Leeds far outweigh Buderus' own. In much the same way as Ellery Hanley, viewed over his whole career, is the best player Leeds have had at 13 (and possibly any other position) in my time watching them, but much of his finest work was done elsewhere and his contribution to Leeds is dwarfed by Sir Kevin Sinfield's.
Unless Sir Kevin's medals were also simply won on the backs of other players?

I do love enthusing about SL dream teams, so here's my SL 'dream' dream team of the last decade... the kind of players whose eminent contributions to SL all put Buderus to shame.
1. Shaun Briscoe
2. Scott Donald
3. Sid Domic
4. Jason Demetriou
5. Kevin Penny
6. Graham Appo
7. Richard Horne
8. Jamie Thackray
9. Matt Diskin
10. Paul King
11. Ben Galea
12. Matt Adamson
13. Stephen Wild
My apologies to Nick Fozzard, Peter Fox, Ade Gardner, Scott Moore, Justin Murphy, Mark Calderwood, Tonie Carroll, Paul Cooke and Michael Smith for their non-inclusion among the elite.

Only players who have been named in any SL dream team, or won the Harry Sunderland, or Lance Todd, or Albert Goldthorpe or have won at least 3 SL rings earn my everlasting respect.
Regards,
Leroy Rivett, Ian Kirke, Lee 0.83 Smith, Matt Diskin and Danny Brough.

Yes amd he was also Leeds player of the year in 2004.
I'd settle for Buderus picking up the odd man of the match award here or there.
Monaghan has overshadowed Buderus in this country by some distance.

| Ettingshausen was the 'best' full back I've seen for Leeds. Eric Grothe was the 'best' winger. Hanley was the 'best' loose forward. I could name an arguable 'best of' Leeds side from the past 30 years who were fun to watch as they failed miserably to win anything meaningful.
There are a bunch of players in this squad who may not be playing well now, and may not ever again, but who have helped win the major trophy 3 (and in some cases 4) times. Those players may be dismissed today, but if for example the '100 Greatest Players' book from a few years ago is updated in 20 years, Diskin would be in and not Buderus. Ryan Hall would be in ahead of Eric Grothe. And the list goes on.
One day they'll be having reunions of the 2007-09 players on the pitch. Maybe its only when they're all old men that some people will recognise their contribution to the club.
