There appears to be some confusion over the game at Newport yesterday ... Not sure if it is lazy reporting by the big news agencies or what ?

Basically, the very last try of the game in the dying moments, Brent Webb crosssed the line with the ball. However, instead of touching down, he then passed the ball back to Jamie Peacock and it was Peacock who actually touched the ball on the ground and was thus, the 'try scorer'.

This means that both Webb and Peacock got hatricks and NOT four tries to Webb and two to Peacock as it reported by the BBC and the Yorkshire Post.

Incidentally, the Southstander report has it as I though with Webb and Peacock both with hatricks.

Just about every other newspaper and web site incorrectly credits Webb with 4.

That's because it was incorrectly announced on the PA last night and then corrected later.

The admiral is correct. Even the official SL site have wrongly given Webb 4 and Peacock 2.

It's amused me all season long reading the YEP crediting Ryan Hall with an extra try but alas I think they've finally taken the hint and corrected their records. They even had poor Ryan believing he'd scored V St Helens in the Challenge Cup at one point. That was good work.
