| It was never a try! He was short, and he lost it. Mind you saying that, I didn't think KRs first try was a try either.

As i'm nearer the other end mate i can't say but the way HKR reacted didn't suggest he was short or didn't ground it

| Must admit.I was sitting high in Carnegie stand near where try scored and first thing I said was that he had grounded it short but like OP says I also thought that KR first try player slid over from a couple of yards out but actually released ball short of line so suppose it evens itself out as they say

It was a clear try. He banged it down and in seconds his arm pulled back with the ball, giving the impression of short.
You are correct on the Hull KR first try. I dont think the player thought it was a try either.

Welham had the ball trapped between his elbow and his body as he slid over the line, nothing to suggest that wasn't a try.

If that was the case then it was a try, as given. I didn't see it the same way though tvoc. I saw a guy sliding along the floor with the ball been pushed forward with his momentum. Never trapped under his arm.

Fair enough, we'll have to wait for the replays. The ball came away but only after he'd slid across the whitewash.

I saw the replay last night.
At the game I thought try. It was when I saw the replay I thought no try. And for me, as that is all an ingoal official as to do in the game. I would have expected no.
But it had no effect. And like the 1st poster said, sometimes Buderus try might not have been given.

| I thought both were trys. I was sat in the carnigie. Buderus stretched out his arm. the ball added length and touched the whitewash. Both ref and in goal touch judge had a perfect view and gave a try. Whelem gathered the ball and slid over the line with it in his arms.

| From my seat in the Carnegie stand I thought that Welham took his try excellently, a good kick just short of the line that he dived on to & slid over the line while exerting downward pressure.
For the Buderus try my reaction was that he was short so it should have been a play the ball.
[uBUT [/ufor both tries the in-goal judge was in a much better position than me (or anyone else in the crowd for that matter) and he signalled that both were tries. Also for Buderus' try Thaler was in an excellent position & he gave it without hesitation.
