To be honest, all I really see here is that Bradford have got away with it. If he'd been allowed to play before court, he certainly isn't going to get a UK visa now, so they'd have been a bit screwed now.

Apparently Catalans are trying to get him on a flight back to France. Is he allowed to leave the country before sentencing.

As for Hethrington, he can say what he pleases. It's not the first bit of sparring in the press between Headingley and Odsal, and it won't be the last. I tend to not take too much notice of it. I agreed with most of what he said, for the record, but I doubt he'd have said it publically if it hadn't been Bradford doing the signing. Speculation, of course.

Well he made several comments in the press on how Bird would be a bad signing to make and a bad example to players, supporters and other clubs. But obviously Gawwy thinks that there's rules for 13 clubs in SL then a seperate one for Leeds.

The comments were made about signing players banned from the NRL, as several reports have said Bird is/was. It was never about signing players who had, or were the subject of, criminal convictions.

Oh, ok. I admit, my mistake. I just though he said it about players with convictions. Tbh I didn't look too much into the Bird signing as I thought it would have had a negative impact on the club anyway.
