I am getting a bit tired of the touch judges. Forwards passes are never given as they never seem to see them, all try's that have come from kicks are decided by the video ref wether there is a player off side. They don't ever see handling in the ruck area and all try's near the touchline go to the video ref! What do they actually do?

run up and down the sideline looking like fools

Wave them orange flags about, they miss forward passes and offsides.

But without them the ball boys wouldn't know were to put the ball back into play

the ball boys are more useful

You need them for conversions to wave their pretty little flags about and they also… do umm… you know… other stuff.

You do have a valid argument about touch judges in general.
HOWEVER.
As a neutral I have to say it is a good job the touch judges are below par or a good 30 - 40% of your tries would not be judged legal.
