Canberra put Carney from the wing to the base of the scrum to collect the ball from the feed.

The front five then cleared a path straight through the centre of the scrum (North/South) allowing Carney a clear run to the line as the Parramatta fullback was up around the defensive line.

It was hilarious and they might have got away with it if it hadn't been for the pesky video ref (Russell Smith?)

It was and rightly so.

As every game down there has the video ref it's unlikely to bear fruit, especially when the obstruction was so blatant as Canberra overplayed the move. Over here especially in a non televised game (with a Ganson in charge) it could be a winner.

At first viewing it was difficult to appreciate how it opened up so easily but it all became obvious (all too obvious) from behind the sticks.

I used to think Gibbo had a step on him until I saw Hunt play. Cracking wife as well IIRC.

Both were exactly the same imo, both were very good players, but talk about being predictive to the better defences?

Gibbo's finest moments came when he went for it and tried to break taclkes coming at him sideways, like in the Yorkshire Cip Final.

Surely the break could be made and the attacking player makes sure he gets caught just before the line. The defence will be in turmoil and the VR cannot go back to previous plays.
