Impossible to do as the two are inter-linked structurally. You couldn't demolish the cricket side without destroying a load of Leeds property and you certainly couldn't attach the cricket roof to the existing RL stand even if it was somehow still able to stand up on its own.

If it came down to Yorkshire being ready to go but Leeds not having got the associated permission that effectively funds half their total development, Leeds would just have to do the north stand first and leave the south stand as a future project. The rebuilding period would be painful without the extra seating in the South Stand but they would have to find a way to make it work.

Yes, I'd imagine YCC would far rather release a statement to the effect that their part of the redevelopment would go ahead, were that the case. As it stands, the statement they've put out hardly reinforces the impression of a strong bidding position for future tests. Which is something they'd otherwise be looking to nurture.

is that a former double glazing salesman and bricklayer believe they can acquire green space land and then flog it for property development purposes.

For starters, it's illegal to sell off designated green space land for anything other than remaining designated green space land without the dodgy, and arguably criminal complicity of a range of potential dodgy professionals like lawyers, council chiefs and planning officers for instance who may, or may not in some instances, be allegedly swayed by the surreptitious acquisition of the contents unofficially sanctioned brown envelopes.

Then there's the not insubstantial issue of dealing with close to a thousand extremely irate middle and upper middle class folk who reside in Weetwood and elsewhere, who sit on lots of local, civic committees, who have all submitted objections to plans to sell off valuable green space which isn't Leeds C.F & A's to sell, other than for the purpose of remaining a green space area.

The former double glazing salesman and bricklayer have underestimated the power of that particular middle and upper middle class bourgeois demographic because they are used to dealing with those who wouldn't know how to organise any resistance if their lives depended upon it - e.g., Rhinos fans whose opinions rarely stretch beyond grovelling subservience to the aforementioned former double glazing salesman in particular.

YCCC can go do one as well.

The Leeds C.F & A company need to fund the new stands another way. After all, they are the best run club in Super League who make regular profits... aren't they? With manageable liabilities? Aren't they?

How many shelved redevopments of both north and south stands has there been during the past decade? So many that a number of fans here would be incapable of countng that high

This just smacks of a MD who lacks the experience and knowledge to deliver what the club needs for its long term survival.

GH appears to have learned nothing from previous failed attempts at stadium redevelopment - this is not the first muted development of the SS under his tenure.

As I have said before Kevin Sinfield made a lot of people in the organisation look a lot better than they actually are - perhaps GH should have felt so threatened when KS suggested he wanted to move into sports administration. He could really do with some quality acolytes right now.

The "last game in SS stuff" is cynical - the actions of a man who is in beyond his capabilities and who should see this an opportunity to depart with his reputation mostly intact.

Some on here have suggested Leeds could be the next Bradford Bulls - if next season is anything like last they could be correct.

It's the same poster who accused GH of knowing we would be terrible in 2011 so deliberately set McClennen up to be the fall guy with McDermott waiting in the wings but McClennen was too smart for GH and knew the squad was doomed to fail and he was being set up.....they only went on to win the GF and subsequent WCC of course.

Now not only is Sinfield solely responsible for the on field success, he's solely responsible for the off field success of the club too. Quite frankly after seeing Peacock at HKR I think it's good that our ex players go cut their teeth elsewhere first in their post playing careers.
