Nobby gave a very interesting interview last year after the Wigan leeds playoff game. He obviously knew exactly the problems at Wigan and what was needed recruitment wise to sort them out. From what happened in their off season you might imagine he was less than satisfied. However, the recruitment of Gleeson and the strong showing of a few of their youngsters (even though the team itself is still pants overall), makes me think he might just want to stick around there another few years if asked. The one concern Wigan have is their pack, which is well below ordinary and not particularly flush with youth. They have some good backs but little in the pack to crow about, but if they can put together a competitive set of forwards in the nest few years then they should be top 4 again.
I can't see Noble at Leeds, Peter Fox buried the chances of any ex-Bradford coach with a one dimensional coaching style (however effective) ending up at Headingley. If Sinfield does move to Warrington (

) it won't be to avoid a coach who left him out of key international games now will it.

People are being ruddy harsh on Peter Fox. The Leeds team he coached went within a whisker of Wembley in a hugely entertaining game vs KR (24-all anyone?). The following year Leeds' recuitment bar ET and McGaw for a short period was absolutely hopeless - Peter Smith? Bob Morris? Andrew Staniland? A knackered Trevor Skerrett? Vs the loss of Tony Currie and Cliff Lyons? ET was great to watch but in terms of overall influence I'd take Lyons and TC any day over ET and McGaw. Compare and contrast to the splurge that started the minute Bamford walked back which continued into 87-88.

IMO he suffered more from the seemingly perennial problem of Leeds' Board failing to back up a degree of success - something David Ward would probably agree with.

FWIW Noble is a professional coach - the chances that he'd let issues with Leeds stop him from trying to get a job there if there was a vacancy are laughable. And he was entirely correct not to pick Sinfield for GB IMO. Having said that he'll never coach Leeds and once his tenure at Wigan ends he'll be on a general downward spiral in terms of clubs he works with.

As far as Noble at Wigan goes, if he hasn't been responsible for their signings then he made a dumb move in the first place. If he is then his judgement is dreadful.

how could noble coach leeds when he gears preperation around peaking for games against leeds?

I had Shimano breaks once. Decent them breaks like. I also had bull bar handle bar aswell. Shaped like a bulls horns. Made me go well fast in 3rd gear.
