the two Millenium Magics have seen, the "jumper in the lapdance" club fiasco, running away from a club to get away from two people, duck kidknapping plot, Stade Francias shirt buying when drunk at 9am Saturday morning, pictures taken with two Hull KR players who I had no idea who they were due to my drunkness, the most rip off taxi EVER
gutted wont be there this year

2003 - Saints (McDonald's length of the fielder), The Saints cup game (Possibly the greatest ever that I was present at), and Connolly's late winner at the JJB were all pretty magic.

Awesome try from McDonald's, mainly because all I was doing was shouting "Pass it, pass it, bloody pa....., oh what a dummy, run run"
2003 cup semi final is hands down the best game I have ever seen.
Also adding to the list, the game against Hull where it was 0-0 at half time wasn't too bad either.

| The snowfight at Thrum Hall. Was that the year both Leeds and Fax had about 12 Aussies each in their sides too? Or maybe it was always snowing at Thrum Hall...
10-10 draw vs. Widnes in the CC when Widnes were fearsome. Cliff Lyons running things, Creasser hitting a last minute penalty on a bog of a pitch setting up the 5-0 midweek replay win.
Also one that comes to mind though I can't remember the result was Cas vs. Leeds at Wheldon Road the day after Hillsborough. Spookiest atmosphere I've felt at a sporting event. The fences round there only came up to your thigh, but nobody was going near them.

| Surprised the game at Odsal in 1998(?) hasn't been mentioned. Totally unexpected and Harris put on an absolute masterclass.
Other than that 3 games stand out pre SL all at Central Park. The 19-0 as mentioned (did Ford score the other tries?) the first time I had seen Leeds win at Central Park. The other 2 were both losses, first was around 1990 when we were pushing Wigan all the way in the league and every time we were threatening the line they gave a penalty away to limit us to 2 points rather than 6. The other was the thrashing in the Premiership when Offiah got 10. Think there were only around 50 of us left when Dicko scored our consolation try.

I was still there, but by the end of the game I'd walked round to the dugout to rain abuse on Dougie Laughton.

I seem to remember Leigh Deakin getting a load of stick but IIRC wasn't he "only" on the field for the first 5 tries and quite a few of the 10 didn't actually come down the wing

I have it in my head that he went off aftert 3 tries.
His nickname of 'Leakin' Deakin' was little unfair, as his far more experienced replacement (Phil Ford?) was far more culpable, with several tackles consisting of flapping his hands on Offiah's shoulder.
Saying that though, Deakin did have a pony tail for a while, so he's can't really blame anyone but his barber for people taking the mick.

| The one that got away was the semi against Stains when we finally got to Wembley. I had broken my knee the week before and had my leg in a full cast. After being present for so many semi failures I was gutted and ecstatic at the same time. After the match my girlfriend (now wife) virtually carried me down the pub. I really should have been thrown out after I poured the second pint over my head while singing at the top of my voice, but whne the landlord saw my leg he didn't have the heart.
I have no idea how I got home.

| Three of us going to Widnes (2005?) made up as Papa Lazarou from the League of Gentlemen.
Excellent banter with the fans before, during ("who are you" chants) and after (in the pub). So funny that day!
And then seeing myself on Sky when I got back home!! Bonus.
Close second was the CC Final at Murrayfield (26.04.03) when we wore "Chev" wigs and then asked Chev for a photo with us! He looked petrified!!

I still to this day do not know how Harris got the ball out for Sterling's try in the second half.
Plus there was the try from the master himself, Jamie Mathiou.

IIRC we got a penalty, they gobbed off and got marched 10, at which point Harris took about 15, just putting him in range for the kick.
As for memorable away days, far too many to mention, but trips to the Don Valley, Warrington and London are/were nearly always a cracking day out.

| McAlpine, 1999 semi final.
Giving the Bulls a 10 point start, Sheridan scoring that famous try (while Danny Peacock was still trying to play a non-existant ball!)
Coming out singing
"Hey there you with the sad face
come up to my place
and live it up"
to every bull fan we saw - hope one of them was Mick Gledhill....

By the end, yes, but for many years you couldn't get a beer inside the ground. There was also the snooker club, which was nice and quiet, making it easy to get served.
On the downside, no 2 pint pots and it was a lot further from the train station.
