| Anyone who has played the game and stood out on the wing will already know how isolating it can feel and how, compared to those playing in the middle of the park, every error is magnified hugely.
Both Briscoe and Hall are class wingers and played a huge part in our victory today.
Personally I admire Briscoe for sticking it out and was delighted to see him rewarded with the match winning try. Plaudits to BMc as well.

| God only knows how miserable some people will be if we win at Wembley. It seems like someone always has to be criticised. As a team we we're fantastic and the players left nothing on the pitch. I'm sure they won't be criticising each other.

| This is a message board it is about opinions - Gotcha and I have differing opinions about a few things is that not what these boards are about airing your opinions. It would be very dull if we all had the same opinion.
My view about yesterday was Leeds played well but Warrington were pretty poor for the most part.

| Hall has constantly put in Superb performances over a long period and is miles better than Briscoe , and for Gotcha to say Hall would not have scored the try Briscoe scored yesterday is ridiculous . Briscoe was better than of late yesterday but still came up with 2 schoolboy errors although on one Watkins did pass too early and the other was part Hardakers fault , but you dont leave it to a prop forward in that situation .

What I actually said was that Halls try, not many in the world would have scored including Briscoe. And that Briscoes try Hall would not have got, and I maintain that.
That try was scored firstly by the speed of reading the dropped ball, secondly getting down to it quick, thirdly the speed off the mark, and fourthly the intelligence of swapping hands to enable the hand off.
It is not a critisism of Hall to say he wouldn't have got it. Just certain parts of it he wouldn't have managed. I would bet money the speed of picking up the ball would have being the first failing.
Indeed on now seeing the BBC programme before the game speaking with the Leeds staff, I never realised Briscoe was the fastest player at the club. It was that speed off the mark that gave the player the opportunity to swap hands for the hand off. Without that the tackle was made yards earlier. Try scoring is not always simple.

| I agree with Gotcha there - Hall would not have scored the try Briscoe did - he simply would not have been fast enough.

| Personally I think Hall is more than capable of scoring that try, the ball bounced up nicely for him, Briscoe is quicker than Hall but Hall has gone that distance plenty of times and also has a very good hand-off
I dont think we have seen the very best of Briscoe in a leeds shirt just yet but I do think they are the best wing partnership in the league

| Right - this is a message board where folk post their opinions.
If we all had the same opinion then there would be no need for this message board as we could safely assume that everyone's thoughts were the same.
If you think that having a different opinion is 'petty squabbling' then maybe you're in the wrong place.
For mine I don't think there is a winger in the game that could have successfully defended the Monaghan try. He'd timed his run and jump to perfection - Hall was almost stationary and had no chance against one of the best kick collectors in the game.
The kick was inch perfect, the catch was inch perfect - I don't think we should be berating Hall, more congratulating Monaghan.

| FWIW, my twopennorth - I thought that Bridge very cleverly also went for the ball & nudged (legally?) Hall giving Monaghan an even clearer jump for the ball.
Secondly, unless the defence is able to put better pressure on the kicker then the defending winger will always struggle especially against someone as tall & good in the air as Monaghan.
We should give credit to the attacking side rather than berate the winger.
We've scored plenty similar tries ourselves on both flanks - then we tend to praise our wingers. No difference here.

I'm not quite sure it was legal, but it's frustrating that Leeds (McGuire, and in the past Senior) seem to be the only team I've seen penalised for that sort of infringement when it's a tactic all teams employ.

Its not respecting others opinions that leads to the petty squabbling, no one ever suggested otherwise

Hall yes reminds me of Alan Smith....not the fastest but great strength, hand off and finishing ability.
Hall and Donald were more recently like the new "A.Smith and Atkinson"...with Hall on the RW of course. Briscoe errs more towards the A.Smith mould too and surely cannot be compared to the silky 'classic winger' attributes of Atkinson.
Now if only we had kept hold of Jodie Broughton....Hall and Broughton could have been the new "A.Smith and Atkinson"

On another point Briscoe has a long way to go to be on a par with Smith or Atkinson

| The first hall try was typical of hall quality strong finisher and one of only a few wingers who would have scored there. For me personally didn't think briscoe had a bad game at all and in my opinion there are a few people who cannot wait to get their claws into him and look for his negatives. The kick off was equal blame for all 3. Hardaker first then both peacock and briscoe both equally to blame neither made it their ball.
I am quite happy with both our wingers and they both offer good go forward giving our props a bit of a breather at times coming from our own line. I know all wingers do this but ours are the most effective in the league at it.
On the game enjoyed the team performance. Peacock gave his usual big game stint. Sinfield and mags controlled the game well with mags making more right choices passing wise than he has for a while. Burrow looked dangerous running. And for me Carl Ablett is the quality back row in the league, does a ton of work, tackles back and carts ball forward.

I think he has a lot more skill than he gets to show as well, but have followed ablett form the youth team days, when I used to watch all the academy games and always thought he would make a great player. Think he is very underated by opposition fans, although I have noticed in the last few years he is getting more credit from oppo fans

It wasn't the distance why that try was scored, it was the speed off the mark that got that try, and the reason why many, including Hall wouldn't have got to the point of switching hands to make the hand off. Others would have being tackled in that first 20 yards.

Poor effort by Peacock on that kick-off. Appeared to be going for the ball, then pulled out of it. Even worse was that he then turned around and gave Briscoe a massive spray like it was all his fault. For a player like Briscoe who seems to be struggling for confidence at the moment, that won't have helped.

Hall is defo the new Smithy... unstoppable at times form 10 yards out.
Briscoe reminds me rather of a young Atky signed from Roundhay RU IIRC and who was prone to standing out of position at times and making the odd BO-BO.
