But we do have a 99 year lease or something ridiculous like that. So all we have to worry about is paying a monthly/annual fee.

We have no worrying about getting the ground right for license purposes and also losing money trying to improve the ground. We have nothing to worry about when it comes to the DW Stadium. A great position to be in.

Dear me! You really think we are in a position where we can be evicted at will? If the football club go down they could be in trouble and will be relying on the Rugby Club. For both parties concerned its best if they can stay in their respective top division. Which I can see happening for a while.

This is very true and it would be good to own the ground. The teams probably in the best position at the moment are Warrington and also St Helens after this season, as they will be owning their own grounds which are spot on when it comes to licensing requirements.

I dont know every detail regarding the lease, but we will be getting money in terms of advertising and gate receipts, whilst I do know that Dave Whelan is in charge of the food kiosks around the ground, so in that instance all money goes to him.

Once Headlingley is up to scratch you will be in the better position of course. I just think at this moment in time, we have very little to worry about when it comes to the stadium.

Have you read my other posts on the matter? That was one incident, I don't see that it has happened again since, these things happen.

Wigan fans even have a go at our small stadium, so small they can't fill it v Saints in a semi, i too would rather have a small lego stadium that is in our own ownership than a rented DFS, aka Dave's Football Stadium.

Hiring the stadium puts money in Wires pocket whereas at Wigan it helps Dave fund Man Utd's easy 6 points a season.

To have a pop at wigans attendance is defo scraping the bottom of the jar for the the last dregs!!!. Wigan aswell as leeds will always have the biggest followers of rugby league in this country. Both teams are the most famous in their counties and both teams have got the most loyal fans. The reason the CC wasnt a sell out was due to marketing which was non existant. The RFL got their dream final and just expected people to turn up instead of trying to sell the game. The fact that both teams have succesful football teams is a credit to their town/city and something other rugby towns are envious of. Silly thread and should be saved for the scousers and dire supporters that only support their team when they're winning.....although the scousers dont get many even when they do win!!!

Our average is 16,124 for this season, the best ever for Wigan since reliable records began.
