I never under estimate hull, I just watch them blow up every year, personally i would like to see them up there and bring something different, the game needs a strong hull, after agar gets the boot in march it might happen.

Even with the amazing success we have had over the past few years I don't think any Leeds fan that has been around for more than 5 years takes anything for granted.

All those excuse making non attending fans have revelled in the last few years success. Success acheived because of sacrifice made by these players in committing to building something special at the expense of personal financial gain.

Some of our fekkwitts should put the same amount of energy into supporting these lads' testemonials as they do drumming up pathetic excuses for the failure to do so.

It takes 5 seconds at my desk to drum up a pathetic excuse. Some of them aren't as sharp as me, but even 30 seconds wouldn't be enough to get most people to the game so I don't know if that would help.

I see your point, but I would guess that a lot of the fans you are deriding have paid Matt Diskin's wages for the last 10 years (or however long he has been on a pro contract). Some will have paid players' wages for 40 years before that. Some will continue to pay players' wages for another 40 years.

If you're talking about people acting at the expense of personal financial gain, spending fortunes following your team over a lifetime ranks up there alongside not deciding to chase a few extra quid in return for memories people would pay many thousands for anyway.

That's not to say I don't agree with you that more should have turned up, I do, but in amongst the people you are slating will be people who have contributed far more than yourself towards the club and it's players over the years.

No they haven't. They've paid to watch Leeds RLFC and its' constituent players tackle a designated opponent on any given matchday. They paid in the hope that they will see their heroes victorious, that they will be entertained and that their lives can be enriched by the successes their idols achieve.


If people have contributed to the club for the same length of time as I have, or longer, they will have done so for a very large proportion of their time whilst they club has failed the main criteria I set out in my previous paragraph. Matt, and other players who have been slighted by such pitiful testimonial attendances, have played an integral role in turning that around. They're provided those cherished memories you talk of and have provided the success many of us have craved for so long. They've done so by subscribing to an ethos of club first and they've done so by remaining within a set-up where they earn less than they could do by moving on, as some of their peers have.

Yes, you can find reasons and excuses to justify a "supporters" failure to appreciate players like this but, IMO, its' frankly unforgivable.

Let me tell you something about our supporters. They will find reasons not to turn out for players like Matt, JJB and Sinfield etc but they flocked in number to Cummins testimonial match so they could see departed "hero" Iestyn Harris, who had deserted the club to earn big bucks with the WRU, come on to the pitch at half time and wave to them.

Our fan base is pathetic.
