| Give him time - a lot wrote Donald off his first season. Just hope the bloke has finished with his bad run of injuries and can concentrate on getting match fit now

| Don't have a problem with the bloke and he probably will end up making a real impact. Just don't think today was the day to start back on the road to match fitness. To be fair he did okay but I wouldn't say he set HQ alight.
Thought Saints were miles better than us today. We are looking a little short on real strike power. I have thought for a couple of seasons that our back line was a bit 'thin' and without Senior (who certainly can't perform week in week out these days although I thought he went pretty well today) we look really ordinarly across the threequarters. I can see us getting caught out a fair few times this year - just like we were today.
Think we missed Smith and Bailey and I really think we are missing a like for like replacement (in class terms) for Ellis. Ali looked anything but fit and Burgess was a bit flat/out of his depth. Ablett looked good and we should probably have had him in the centres...Gibson and Watkins? Not nearly ready for this level. Gibson probably can make the grade but he is by no means the finished article.

| Buderus didn't have a great game today but niether did any other Leeds player. He wasn't any worse than Diskin and as long as he stays clear of injuries will only improve. I dont think it was a bad move from McClennan to play him.

Here are dictionary definitions of the word why for you.
1. for what? for what reason, cause, or purpose?: Why did you behave so badly?
2. for what cause or reason: I don't know why he is leaving.
3. for which; on account of which (usually after reason to introduce a relative clause): the reason why he refused to go.
4. the reason for which: That is why he returned.
5. a question concerning the cause or reason for which something is done, achieved, etc.: a child's unending hows and whys.
6. the cause or reason: the whys and wherefores of a troublesome situation.
7. (used as an expression of surprise, hesitation, etc., or sometimes a mere expletive): Why, it's all gone!
Hope that helps

He was better than Diskin today and his passing is much more fluent.
ATEOTD Saints were by far the bettr team and no one man is to blame. Thats the top and bottom of it.

| McClennan needs to find a plan to beat Saints. His two from seven record is looking more worrying every time we play them. You can't take anything away from his GF win but it looks increasingly like the exception rather than the rule. As far as exceptions go it's a good one but today was a potential cup final with home advantage and Leeds were clearly second best. Even McClennan's pre match claim that Leeds would win the penalty count, turned to s[ihi[/it.
Buderus went OK overall but the weak areas of the squad were again there for all to see. These too little too late fightbacks are papering over some pretty deep cracks at the moment.
If everyone at Leeds is happy to finish second in a two horse competition then that is where they will finish this season.

Quality post.
McLennan is a fantastic coach and there is no question about that but i think with his record in the finals does show how he can get your players up for games. We (saints fans) will always blame the weather for those two losses and whether that is right or not he can adapt to the games conditions and use them to the advantage. McLennan will win you the important games, today you seemed very lacklustre and blunt in attack. Many players running sideways and not alot of organisation. Defensivley you held us well when we were breaking and kept us out from anything greater than 10 yards.
Buderus will come good for you, class is permanent. A few passes were off today but nothing came from them.

| I was more concerned about Diskin. For the last ten mins of his 2nd stint he was a passenger and every-one else had to get to dummy half.
Buderus is clearly significantly better than Diskin and if nobody saw his metres from dummy half I would suggest they weren't watching the game.

I've always thought Diskin had a reputation above his station and was lucky to still be at Leeds. He's a limited player who tries very hard and works hard at the basics. Only on a couple of occasions have I seen anything noticable individually from him. He's like Roby without the dynamic running.

Totally agree. We just went sideways...we were far too easy to defend against. We miss Ellis in the middle of the park and i'm sorry but we are weak on the right centre. I thought Saints beat us in the backs, Gidley Gardner, Wilkin and Meli were excellent - they ran far better lines than us - their passing was tremendous and ripped us apart, Wilkins kicking was superb - ours was very poor. The scoreline flattered us. GH needs to get his cheque book out, as i said before this squad is not good enough to win anything at the moment unless it's strengthened as Saints are just too good for us at the moment.

| Buderus was on a hiding to nothing in this game and its a little unfair to criticise him. He played okay today, but more importantly he is a good player and with a run in ths side, his fitness will return and he should gel with his team mates.

I don't think diskin has done that well in the last couple of match's TBH and his petulance is getting more apparent.
I don't think he'll be dropped though because bluey reallly want's to get him and buderus firing and in tandem but i wouldn't be too fussed if mcshane was given the nod.
