[iThe 70th anniversary of the famous INDOMITABLES 1946 RL Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand will be celebrated on Saturday 2nd July at the Heritage Quay, (Huddersfield University, HD1 3DH (12-4pm)
There will be a special exhibition of archives and memorabilia on display, and an oportunity for the public to view historic film footage of the tour from start to finish, they travelled to Australia on the aircraft carrier HMS Indomitable, and played 27 competitive matches in less than three months, and are the only touring team to remain unbeaten in a test series in Australia,
The tour was the first international sporting event after the war, and created huge media interest around the world. please circulate this email.
The event is free and open to all rugby league supporters and anyone with interest in sporting history.
