Something is obviously very amiss....

I don't see anything to change what we think we already know about our finances.
On the playing side the lad has made a personnel decision that fits better the short term current circumstances and all the best to him.

Doesn't get much worse than going securing short term with relegation Fodder rather than a team you have already been with this year. Either totally potless or doesn't like the club/running of it

There was a feature in courier Friday before last with Wilkinson saying how he was enjoying his spell at Fax and how he wanted to help the club achieve it's top 4 ambition.......then misses Swinton and now this.....

Yep, could be that he see's Fax as going nowhere and lets be honest he's not on his own but we're speculating on how someone is thinking which is just guesswork.
As stated last week BEFORE the Oldham offer he was happy to play at Fax and do his best for us and himself in the process.
Oldham have now come in with an alternative deal which is stated as being better for all parties to the end of the season and Fax have decided not to get into a bidding war at this stage and cut their cloth accordingly.

Bottom line, if it is that he doesn't want to be here, then we don't want him and it's better to know beforehand rather than after as has been the case with some in the past.

reckon he wasn't guaranteed first team rugby (with BK close to returning) so why wouldn't you take a contract at Oldham where you're more likely to play week in week out?

From his own comments it looks like he enjoyed playing with us, but there's a fair chance he lives closer to Oldham than us, and he maybe wants more certainty around playing 1st team rugby. He's just gone 21, and at that age it's probably better to have some degree of certainty to be in the starting line-up... especially if it's closer to home.

Im not quite sure that Marshall has a good eye for a player. We need a bit of pace around the play the ball and this lad had it. We all saw how much better our attack looked with AOB in the team and it was nice for our half backs to have a bit of room.

In this instance you can't blame Marshall,he wanted him but we couldn't seal the deal...

Think its a bit unfair to say he hasn't a good eye for a player. He has developed some younger players who are now cutting it in first team. Morris and Brandon Moore to name a couple. Grady not been a bad signing. I agree though we do need to strengthen in Halfbacks with pace, which is sadly lacking. Brandon and Kaye are too similar in my opinion and neither are blessed with pace.

I am not sure RM is the one to be taking credit for Morris and Moore and the younger players coming though. This is more down to Martin Gonzales who works tirelessly for the club looking for new talent and has good contacts with a number of other clubs who give him the heads up on players who they can’t fit into their plans budget, as I believe was the case with Morris and more so Moore from Cas. And had RM taken his advice on Nick Rawsthorne we would have signed him up well before Hull came sniffing so at worst we would have got a fee for him.

Grady a good signing. Fairbank not too bad either. He has also made some bad signings. Cant be easy working on a shoestring budget and other teams having more money than ourselves. Lets not forget Marshall given youngsters a chance to shine in first team. Give him some credit.

From what I can gather his indecision has cost him on more than one occasion.

Whether you like DR or not, and most people don't, if you accept that you're going down that route you should do it properly. RM's management of DR has been nothing short of farcical.
