| Things we should all have learned from the weekend in France
1) We need to model our defence on the gate to the pool at the hotel because nobody could crack that open. Luke nearly missed the game - thought we were going to have to revert to water polo at one point
2) Don't go on the p*** with Hilda
3) We need a band. Prefereably one that all wear odd shoes!
4) Catering at the Shay needs sorting. BBQ required (under the new stand?) with sausage butties that taste THAT good
5) A beer tent on the car park for after the game so that we can drink and dance on tables with the 12 Barrow fans that could be d to make the journey on a freezing night in March
6) An adopted "Melting Pot" where all Fax fans congregate. Ideally not a 4 mile 30+ degree evening route march from the Shay though, especially as Le Halifax Metro is nothing like the Toulouse metro
7) A stadium announcer that gives us White Paul & Black Ben every game. Thought Royston Shad had a game good!
Agnes and Emile, the receptionists from the hotel, to be employed in the ticket office. The queues would stretch all the way to Thrum Hall!
9) A sense of direction for White Paul and Worrincy Rob.
10) Kebabs where they put the chips inside it - this is the future!
Tres Bien

It's only 4E for about 8 cans from the supermarkets near the Ibis opposite the train station as well

| The Stuff in the Red Cans? We were getting 6 330ml cans for €3 from the supermarket, there was some cheaper stuff in a red can marked "lager" for around €2.11 for 6, presume that was the own brand, tasted ok though.

The Kronenbourg is in the red cans, yeah - completely different to the far more expensive 1664.

Tastes a lot better too, I presume the 1664 is a different beer produced by the same brewery,

| you will find the cheapest french beer in the Leader Price shops - it's quite drinkable too !
Hilda IS the future of rugby league - he's become a legend in Toulouse
I did ask if I could try announcing the english bits & pieces to help out instead of the french git who gets everything back to front (the funniest one this season was ' Kannowless Meekhell' followed by 'Ayetorntwayte Jammes' ) but was politely requested to 'fermer ma geule' (shut my gob).
more tables are definitely required outside next season to encourage even more Faxaholics to make complete prats of themselves ...
why don't you have a band ??? where's the problem ?
totally agree about the kebabs
the Barrow game was brass monkeys weather at the end of march tho' it didn't stop them dancing on the tables - definitely better dancers than the Fax lot...
Still can't figure out why the Cougars & Rams are such a miserable bunch ?
à bientôt més amis

I was actually on about the Kronenbourg 1664 the had on draught in the Ibis and The Melting Pot, I'm not a big lager drinker but stuff was beautiful, the Kronenbourg Blanc wasn't bad either.

Ah right, I actually prefer the Kronenbourg that they sell in the red cans and also have on draught in a few of the bars. Nowt beats the on-site brewery of the Frog & Rosbif though!

I remember having a laugh at that at the time and the local teenagers stood next to me were asking us how to say it.
Mind you his effort certainly wasn't the worst attempt at saying "James Haythornthwaite". Leigh's MC effort was all the lines of "James Her Her Her....... Hayvonwhiiiiite"
It was like they had a Gareth Gates tribute act on.
