| Exactly mate hence why our campaign is about bringing back P&R and ridding our game of this franchising debacle. A return to a sport and excitement!!

| This press release is brilliant. As a Leigh fan I have being going on about the same since the licence system started.
I for one will be fully supporting this challenge.
We must hold the RFL to account about their decisions, inconsistencies and lack of transparency.
To do nothing is not an option.
This will make the RFL sit up and listen. I feel sure there is a huge support for the re-intriduction of P&R.

| Strangely enough, a big part of me would be very happy of we got into super league via a licence. Knowing that everything we'd need to survive is place. Not going for broke to try and get promoted.
Of course the whole licensing thing would have to be run in the correct manner. That is a whole different story!

| While I agree with the principal points raised, I have too many reasons to not want to be involved in this.
Is the Trust been used as a vehicle to carry this "Hate RFL Love P&R Thing"?
The trust has done well raising money over the past year for the u23s (and years gone by for other things) and could potentially damage its reputation.
Is this activity in the interests of a Supporters Trust? Supporters Direct mission statement reads - [i"Our goal is to promote sustainable spectator sports clubs based on supporters' involvement & community ownership"[/i. This to me is nothing to do with the running of the club and the like, and would possibly be better placed as an activity for the supporters club.

| Its everything the Trust is all about Brew. Its acting as the voice of the supporters of which a large majority I would confidently guess are miffed about the whole franchise process.

| i posted this on the VT,
we could start a 'HATE Stevo' campaign while we're at it!
in all seriousness as a fax fan i see the word 'hate' as a mistake, so soon after our decline of a franchise. however, i do believe that the supporters trust are doing this for the right reasons and not just 'sour grapes'.
Halifax ST know that the RFL aint going to change their minds, but what this campaign might do, live on sky, is get the voice out for fans below SL.
this time Fax missed out, we still havent heard why? but many on here believe its because our bid wasnt good enough, maybe that was the case. But i believe it was because the RFL saw big money Glover and rubbed their hands!
this campaign, if carried out correctly will let the world know that the RL community that choose to support it could make a difference.
the differnce that needs to be made in my opinion is new people in charge of our great sport, people that dont gamble with Rugby league's reputation and gamble on its future, expansion worked with Catalans and i aplaud that, but can any true RL fan say they think its going to catch on anywhere else??!
North east - failed
2ns french team (toulouse) - failed
paris - failed
wales - failed
london - failed (my opinion)
Lewis and Wood have tried......and now its time to let someone else with new ideas in!
give us our sport back!!!!!!!!

You can hand your flat cap in at the end of the season when you enter the "promised" land.

| Whilst I agree with the cause, I agree with the others who have questioned the name of the campaign. "Hate RFL" means "Hate Rugby Football League", which I presume none of us do. Whilst some may claim to "Hate the Rugby Football League" this is highly emotive, and makes the campaign look like it is by people who are bitter and twisted, rather than having an objective concern for the future of their sport.
I appreciate the campaign has been launched, but is it not possible to reflect on the campaign title and change it to something which actually reflects the cause rather than the emotion.

I disagree but we can't agree on everything. The campaign is Hate RFL, Love P&R and on my part reflects how I and many others feel about the state of the game currently. I hate what the RFL currently stand for, the lies they feed us, how they dictate, how they change the goal posts and how they have 2 very poor figureheads running our sport. More importantly I HATE how our game is no longer a sport in the true sense with P&R. I understand the sentiment of hate can be perceived as a strong word but we need to provoke interest and a response. Our campaign isn't about us not winning a franchise, this was merely the icing on the cake. If we stand by and do nothing I fear we won't have a game to watch any more in 5 years.
Thank you for your comments, we will listen and if the consensus is that it is too strong we can change tack. I just feel we need to stand strong and ride the initial raised eyebrows.
We are doing this for the RL Family and not just Halifax RLFC.

| Well done Chris & Linda, lets hope we can get other clubs behind us.
Just another thought on a title which jumped out when I read your initial post, what about a
[u'Spirit of 1895'[/u
campaign. After all the reason RL came into existance was to promote fairness for all, something currently lost to the sport. Its also something fans at other clubs might be happy to buy into.
Changed the title, sounds better

| Whilst I support the thinking behind the protest, I cannot support any form of protest using the word 'Hate'. It is undiplomatic, somewhat immature and could cause people not to take the protest seriously. So I won't be there as I won't associate myself or my family with any protest employing such ill-judged and ill-advised wording.
Nothing stronger than, say, "Loath the RFL, Love P & R" should be the strap line. It also has a better ring to it.

| Something has to be said. Well done Chris and Linda and others great work. Sadly I cant really be of much help as I dont live in the area and I have a few other things that need sorting first. This is from us the Fans not the Club or the Board and we have nothing to lose. I do feel this goes beyond Halifax and effects everybody. The RFL have been hell bent on expanding the game but have failed and repeatedly using the same mistakes but using different events to get there way. We all know the game needs to expand but doing it by throwing money away when there is no proper Business and Management Structure is wrong. I think we the fans need to ask for a review of how the RFL have done things and what we would like to see
Maybe instead of using "Hate" and I do hate the RFL for what they have done and are doing to the game maybe we need to maybe focus more on what we want to happen, how we feel. Maybe something like
R eview = A look at the mistakes that has been made with the Licences, Expanding the game and the way the fans have been ignored
F uture = We need the RFL to tell us where we are going and how we are going to get there
L eadership = We feel we need a new Leadership in the RFL and change the way things are done so secretively
Review Future Leadership of RFL as they are going to kill the game the way things are not just with licences but in other areas. Maybe its better than using the word Hate which could easily be misunderstood. My English is not the best and so maybe there are other wors that could be better than the ones I have suggested

I was thinking something similar earlier as I ' mulled ' over this post
Even perhaps just something simpler like just the year
Everybody will be aware of my opinions of both the RFL and collaboration between clubs , as the RFL do as we know operate a ' divide and conquer ' policy when it come to the clubs at our level , promising everybody , delivering nothing
However it really is at boardroom level where this standing together needs to happen , to create money , as all the displays of anger will not make any great difference IMO
I really don't know what the answer is , it is very frustrating , not attending any games outside the Championships is one way of showing your displeasure , something I and others have been doing for a couple of years , we have a divivded sport , the only way out of that is money simple as
I'll try to attend next week if I can

The 'principles' thing was to re-educate the public about why the game had to break away in 1895 (beyond just broken time payments) and how it thrived on firm foundations. Fairness, openness, community spirit, collaboration, all underlying themes to the overall title. Maybe the supporters trust could trademark it

I think this would be a great title for the campaign. It covers the game as a whole, not just Halifax's issues, and is a direct attack on those running the game - which is the fundamental problem. It would also carry with it the thousands of other non Halifax fans who share our deep concerns with the game. It also gets those not in the know asking what the problem is, and therefore gets people interested. Also, I dare say the Union favouring national press would jump on it, which would cause huge embarassment for the poodles of Red Hall.

| Looks like its a tough one. Its obviously a great idea in principle but with some people already saying they dont like this or that then maybe some things need tweaking. It needs to be something that everyone can get behind to build momentum. Its going to be hard for people to get behind something they dont all believe in, i mean for me the P&R thing, yes i used to like it back in the day and im not the biggest fan of some of the parts of franchising but im clever enough to realise that at the moment there is no way the game can support simple P&R, to send a Champioship team in to SL for just one season would be suicide. Also as someone has mentiond Hate RFL means i hate Rugby League basically and i dont, i dislike some of the decisions the sports ruling body makes and question the legitimacy of what they have done but i dont hate RFL.
I think this can be a great campaign if done correctly, but it needs everyone behind it.

| Hit them where it hurts for maximum publicity. Picture the scene, Old Trafford and it’s Super League Grand Final night. Fifteen minutes to go and Warrington are two points in front of Wigan. Suddenly a disturbance starts in one of the stands and all the stewards and security cameras are diverted to the area of the ground in question. At a given signal from the three other stands small groups of Championship fans storm the pitch dressed in shirts of all the Championship/Championship 1 clubs with a huge banner for their cause and the game has to be stopped!
Eddie says ‘Who are this lot?’
Stevo replies ‘No idea, I don’t recognise the shirts. They’re obviously nothing to do with Rugby League.’
This could be done.
