With the greatest of respect to my eminent friends and fellow posters who have gone before me on this topic, this has nothing to do with who are the biggest club.
This is about a coach who in my humble opinion is a very good coach, who has fallen on his sword for whatever reason. In due course we will need to separate the bullsheite from the truth to fully understand the decision.
I could go on about why Richard will not leave Fax (  ) but that might start debate about our two clubs again.
I was shocked to hear the news and hope he is not lost to the game. I am sure that Leigh will still be a major force this season.
Interesting times still for not just Leigh and Fax but for the Championship as well.
Finally if we are saying my club is bigger than your club, my dad is bigger than your dad or my kn-b is bigger than your kn-b remember our forum has the biggest kn-b of the lot.

Well said HalifaxJohn, it is a real shame that Rowls has left as he is most definitely a good coach and I hope all is OK with him and his family.
But If the Leythers fail again this season they now have a built in excuse.

Thought about writing something sensible about Rowley and his Fax comments when he left, then I thought, nah he was a prat, shame he's left Leigh though, they might actually get a good coach now.
Come on Derek, give it to Rangi, he can continue PR's legacy I'm sure.

| Never saw this one coming so near to the start of the season. I hope the personal stuff PR refers to is not too serious and he is back in the game sooner rather than later. Not sure that the Brierley thing is worth much commentary only if it is made official. The team they have on the field is the key to success now, not the coach, once they cross that white line to play.
Still think they will be the team to beat.

I'm led to believe that it is one of two things.

It will all come out in the end.

Never nice to see turmoil in the game because this is still people's livelihoods were are considering (even if it is big 'ed Leigh).
I think Charlie is right about Brierley as the lad is a class above anyone else in this league and that includes Rangi Chase. I personally hope he goes to SL and not Bradford or Sheff. Ideally we should push the boat out and snap him up.

Encouraged,it's no secret Brierley is my favourite player at Leigh ,he's a very good player and a great bloke as well, a credit to his family,I would be gutted to see him leave,BUT if he leaves it wouldn't be the end of the world, I remember Murphy, Woods , and Street leaving ,big losses to the Club but we survived,Rowley will be a big loss no doubt but we must move on regroup find a replacement as soon as possible and get on with business of winning Rugby games.
As for Fax signing Brierley ?I honestly can't see Ryan leaving Leigh for another Championship Club, if he leaves it will be to Leeds or Salford, but ideally I hope he stays.See you in March.  . |

Apparently it was part of the box set "Leigh v Halifax 2014-2015" which also included the four Leigh victories over 'Fax in those seasons! I believe it was handed on to PR as an unwanted Christmas present, by Karl Harrison! |
