Looking for a portable DVD player for travelling in car and planes. It needs to have USB, shock resistant, decent battery life, car rechargeable and be able to play various codecs. Any of you guys got one you would recommend?

Just bought a Sony DVP-FX770. No idea if it fits the criteria as Mrs Dally got it for junior. But, Mrs D usually reads reviews before buying things. It does have a USB port on the side, comes with mains adapter, car adapter and carrying case. Not as grand looking as the old Philipps ones the kids used to have years ago but I have no idea what's on the market at present.

Have you considered a tablet?
I have one of these: www.archos.com/products/ta/archo ... gb&lang=en Probably about £125/150 now. Easily expandable with a micro sd card. It has been updated, the newer versions are G9.
Plays anything you throw at it codec wise. |

That looks nice but it is for my granddaughter and so I need to have a DVD drawer, so she can watch all her Disney stuff. |
