With the rumoured absence of Morley, Hicks and Briers could it be that Tony is holding back his best team for when we play saints at wembley?

I guess there is no point throwing everything we've got at them in a relatively meaningless SL game. Showing our full hand now could give saints a massive advantage come CC final time.

First of all, wire and saints need to win there semi finals. Second of all, this game is not meaningless, with wigan winning last night we need the two points to get closer to having a play off spot come the end of the season.

Agreed - NO game for us at the moment is meaningless - on a roll and in form - why spoil that - plus, a win against Saints would be a huge boost for the rest of the season - although I don't think we'll win whoever we put out!!!

No but its very likely that it will be a saints v wire final.

Out of the two i would think that saints final place is more at risk than the wires.

Why would TS rest them against saints? Are ye mad?

To gain an upper hand against them in the CC final or at least to keep a few aces up our sleves.

Anyhow after hearing what ive heard this morning it does appear that Morleys injury is just that and he isn't being rested or kept back.

Wigan have just gone up to 5th in the table, ahead of us. What makes you think its a foregone conclusion?

I could understand if it was a week before the challenge cup final or something and against a lesser team, but not now and not against saints. We need to be at our best to beat them.

What your saying is stupid though. There is more chance of us losing to wigan than there is of saints losing to hudds. I'm not saying either is impossible, but us losing is more likely than saints losing.

I don't think its as guaranteed as you would like to think. Both Wigan and Warrington have had a topsy turvy season and both seem to be doing better now than early on. Add to that injuries to both sides (and plenty of time for players to return/get injured) its hard to predict who will win the game and you getting carried away about what the final will be is a massive case of jumping to conclusions which could easily come back to bite you on the backside.

The Semi is a one off game and anything can happen.

Too true, but my opinion is that it will be a saints v wire final but i think that saints will have a tougher semi final than the wire.

It remains to be seen what happens but that is what i think. Thats fair enough.

How can it be said that tonights game is meaningless? If we win we will have a superb chance of making the top 4 (where we would get 2 bites at the cherry in the play offs - enormous advantange) A win tonight would also give us massive confidence that we could beat Saints in the challenge cup or the play offs IF our paths cross.

As for the assumption that we will beat Wigan in the Semi, I do not think we can write Wigan off just yet, The last 3 weeks they have beat Hull KR, Quins and Catalans, thats hardly form to justify assumining the semi final is a foregone conclusion.

Wigan are now statistically the 3rd best in-form team in SL since Easter with 7 wins from 10 (70%), the same as St Helens. Recent form is 4 from 5 (80%)

They should not be underestimated in any way.
