Quote ="TRB"And how long and how much money is required to deliver one? It's not as easy as just saying it on here - and 6 years ago we wouldn't have got didley from the council - but we now have a fully funded stadium development - circa £20m'"
You're absolutely right, and I'm sure you know much more about how difficult that is than most on here, but it doesn't alter the fact that this means nothing as far as the RFL/SL are concerned, especially when there are other clubs who do have the facilities waiting for a chance to be where we are. Newmarket [ihas [/ito become a reality for us to have any club at all, or at least one that vaguely resembles the one we follow at the moment. That much seems obvious to me. You've said yourself that the business plan works for Newmarket whether we play in SL or in the Championship.
Quote ="TRB"and yet many are prepared to give upon the product that goes inside it - I'm not!'"
Since you use the "product" analogy, I don't think people are necessarily giving up on the product - they'd just like to see one in there that works. If this means a scaled-down, no frills version of the one we have, a product we can afford to have, rather than the flashier version we may like to have but clearly can't afford, well, so be it. That's life, isn't it? Cutting your cloth to suit your purse, and all that.
