| Anyone got any novel ideas?
I think it is important to start now and not wait any longer. The 3 Home Qualifiers is as good a time as any.
It may be too late for the Halifax game at The Keepmoat but something should be tried for the matches at Bramall Lane.
Does any 'Blade' know if the Sheffield United club are offering any discount for their season ticket holders? Are SUFC putting information about the games into their programme(s)? If not,how much would it cost to have one inserted?
Will our club be offering reduced price admission to any season ticket holder, from any other sport?
As the LCC finalists are one of our opponents I came across an idea from a club which has the owner/chairman of Hull KR involved.Would our club be prepared to reduce the price of this seasons replica shirt - together with the Qualifier T shirt - as an adult-and-child bundle, and allow that reduced price to qualify as the purchase of a 3/2 game free entry ticket.( Newbies only to apply.) [url=http://www.bridtownafc.com/juniorseasiders.htmIDEA HERE[/url
Anyone know someone who could knock out some flyers for sports clubs/social clubs/youth clubs etc. at extremely cheap rates, and volunteers to distribute them in specifically selected areas?
Those with better ideas - that should be everybody - please add below.
Thanks...Time's a wastin'...

| I do think that price of entry has some impact on attendances take this coming sunday for example the club have increased ticket prices for everybody including season ticket holders to £20 so when you factor in transport and refreshments it is quite expensive. If we lose on Sunday selling the remaining 2 home games will be very difficult because there will be nothing left to play for as for Sheff Utd fans yes thats a great idea but i think it is unlikely that if that sheff utd are home the same weekend they will go to both games.
Like Football we should have pricing categories (Sheff wed have 8 !!) I would price this season as follows
Grade A Bradford Leigh £15
Grade B Halifax Featherstone London Dewsbury Doncaster £12
Grade C Batley Hunslet Workington Whitehaven £10 (Groupons Star Money Off Vouchers £7)
Season Tickets £100
Kids go free if accompanied by an adult
Regular Adverts in the Star and Groupons offering money off £3 for Grade C Games
Free Giveaways like Shirts of Flags for the big games

| Discount for early purchase of season tikets, under 12's free admittance then half price up to 16 and concession rates to include 17 to 21 year olds and students with NUS card or similar. Discount for match tickets purchased up to 24 hours before the kick off.
Partners admitted free for certain games.
Most important of all though is to get back to Sheffield asap.

Getting back to Sheffield is the most important.Confirmation that Bramall Lane is our home for 2016 asap would be good.
The partners idea may be a difficult one to check - and is it aimed at newbies or the hardcore/diehards.
I saw an idea - unfortunately lost the link - where, for example,we offer an EAGLES TRY - which would be 4 games at a reduced price to see if the purchasers enjoyed the game.4 games would be deemed long enough to persuade the newbies to stay.
Ticket bundles are an American idea where you get more than the game - free drink and a hat,or similar,on attendance.
On the partners theme - Ladies Days seem a popular 'freebie' on one day of the season where hairdressers, manicurists, and many female-led businesses advertise at the game where ladies are offered free entry.

| Even if we lose to Leigh and Salford. The club needs to market our return to the city extensively. It's a story in itself, we've been out of the city for a season and we're going to be facing SL opposition at Bramall Lane to end 2015. Maybe discounts for Blades season ticket holders? An offer that will get people's attention and get them down to the ground. Hopefully we can play some good, expansive stuff like usual which will make them want to come back. We're doing things right on the field so now it's time to do the same off of it as we move to being a full-time club.

| "Even if we lose to Leigh and Salford" If we do I would slash all tickets to £10 or 2 game for £20 because £20 for a single game especially the Hull KR game which could end up being a meaningless game with both teams knowing where they will be playing the next season. I know it would mean refunding mini season ticket holders £10 but it would be worth it to attract new fans

I shall respond to you duggs and 'saunter past' Danny due to his doubting of 'MY' players.
I shall point out that 'MY' players have improved exponentially game on game and just as we improved at Widnes, following the performance at Bradford,we improved again yesterday.
We have scored more points against 'Fax than Super League Widnes did,and our defeat at Bradford was put into perspective with their scale of victory against high-spending,Super League experienced Salford.
We do need to entice new fans but there are arguments about devaluing the product. If it is too cheap,or free, people will not think it worth attending. If they spend a little money they may stick to the idea of going to see what is on offer and not waste what they have spent.
I don't think it wise to reduce prices based on the opposition - some would then argue to increase the admission because the Cup-Finalists are on show.
If the games are considered relatively worthless,I don't think they will be because I hope for points to be gained at both Leigh and Salford,
the question has to be what will attract new spectators to the games?
Announcing new signings? Probably not to newbies.
Playing youngsters? Again, probably not to newbies.
It will need to be the whole gameday experience. What will it cost to provide? Is it cost-effective?

I was only trying to raise the point, even if the worst case scenario happens in the next two games, this shouldn't put the club off from marketing our return to the city. Those two performances at BL can be classed as selling ourselves to the people. If the BL matches are anything like yesterday, and a good few newbies turn up to watch them, then who wouldn't come back?!

I think we may need an advertising slogan.Friday Night Lights,I think,is used by London Skolars,to increase crowds on the night prior to the Challenge Cup Final. That ain't good enough.Fortunately there isn't any Premier League soccer on the box on the 18th Sept.
Wigan used the existing season ticket holders to have those attend at a cheaper rate - [url=http://www.wiganwarriors.com/news/2010-04-30-big-one-2-ticket-detailsThe Big One[/url

It's early days for Twelves and Eights. Time will tell whether the best marketing policy is to sell 11 match season tickets or 14/15 match season tickets.
Personally, I'd see it as a bit of a bind to buy a season ticket twice a year but - hey - other punters may differ. Only the sales figures will tell us.

| Unfortunately however hard we try Sheffield will never get massive crowds until/if we get into the superleague and even if we do wewould probably only average 3,000 at best there are three reasons for this
Heritage - If Sheffield was in West Yorkshire we would probably get crowds of 5-10 k however Sheffield is a football city with 2 well attended clubs, the oldest club and the oldest football ground. Growing up as a child you are either a blade or an owl. Rugby League has never been popular in Sheffield if we could not build and attract a crowd following our wembley win we never will . Football owns this city
Rugby League - We are all fans on this forum and understand the rules most of the time !! for a newbie it must be difficult to follow in the flesh if you are used to watching rugby league on Sky
Minority Sports - Sheffield Ice Hockey is well attended and other rival sports Speedway, Stockcars, Greyhound Racing. Teams like Warrington Widnes Castleford St Helens are well attended but RL is the only sport in their town

Soccer owns everywhere. St Helens don't seem to do so bad, despite being close to Liverpool.

When I first started watching Rugby League, I was just happy to watch it as a spectacle. I was prepared to invest a bit of time learning the laws of the game. The trouble with folk today is they want to "plug and play". New products don't even come with manuals now. They're online in the unlikely event that you want them.

Not sure what your point is here, duggs. We're a minority sport too. Why do we get less fans than ice hockey ? And are you telling me that no-one in Warrington, Widnes, Castleford or St Helens travels to sporting events outside their town ? Afraid that's nonsense. Folk travel big distances to sporting events these days.

| Would an average of 3,000 be so bad? It's probably more than Salford get now.
People like to bang on about how Sheffield have no fans but we're 6th for average attendances in the championship this season, and that's effectively playing away from home. When we were in Super League, there were teams with lower average crowds than us. It probably just looked worse in a huge bowl than a compact crumbling dump like Belle Vue.

| It's not applicable to our next 2 games but following on from Scottish and southern based soccer clubs it seems a rugby league club is now trying [url=http://www.hornetsrugbyleague.co.uk/News/Article/41454PAY WHAT YOU WANT/CAN SEASON TICKETS[/url
People who work shifts don't enjoy purchasing season tickets, especially when the kick off times/days are changed at late notice.
Some sports clubs do the 'Pay what you think the game was worth' tactic.
This could be incorporated with extra press coverage in the form of a survey, which again raises the profile of the club - should we be returning to Sheffield for 2016 - [url=http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/inverness-pay-what-you-want-scheme-hailed-success-5021860Story[/url

| Damian Irvine, who was at Cronulla Sharks,is now involved on the commercial side at Wycombe Wanderers soccer club, where I believe the attendances are soaring.
I have checked with things at Notts County where he was working earlier, and discovered he managed to gain an award in 2014.
It was linked with season ticket sales - named The Bench - and it was a scheme where purchasers of season tickets were made to feel more involved with the club.
Would a similar scheme work if aimed at the youngsters/familes supporters for the future?
People like to be made to feel wanted and valued - so I'm told.

| Would it not be possible to play a double header with one of the football clubs. This is just a suggestion as I dont know the logistics involved with the idea. But surely someone could approach the idea. After all anything must be worth a try
