There are hints in the press release towards "difficulties" behind the scenes so it may not be simply performances which have precipitated this. We don't know.

They could still finish 3rd, what were they genuinely expecting from this season? The top 4 was tight last year and but for a meteoric decline from Batley, and to a lesser extent yourselves, (don't here many of you calling for Aston's head) the top 4 was always going to be tight again.

Agreed, we've had a struggle of a season but it never got to the stage where I thought Aston should move on. If Ben Black had been fit for the whole season, the aforementioned Batley would have stayed up at a canter imo.

I think it's just annoyed them that Batley and yourselves have slipped up, but instead of those taking advantage Donny have nipped in. Which to be far, is as unexpected to us as it is to everyone else having spent all year talking trying to #MakeThe8

Yeah we're quite happy with how the last few years have gone; an we'll actually have a bit of money to spend for a change next year. Our biggest problem is going to be keeping hold of Paul Cooke I imagine

You've excelled in the Championship brilliantly, more so when Cooke took charge post Tony Miller. Can imagine he'll be in demand if a few SL teams chop and change next season when the pressure is on.
