Ey up Eaglets. Having never been to your new place we was wondering the best places close to the ground for food and drink. I know the ground has a carvery but was looking for something other than that. Should be a cracking game and if the weather is good a fast one.

New barrack tavern is supposed to be good for food and ales. So I'm told by a sheff fan.

New barrack tavern is the place to go only 5 minute or so walk away. Real ales and decent food there

There is also macdonalds and Pizza Hut just outside the ground if they take your fancy

Yes, NBT across the road does great food and real ale. Welcomes home and away supporters. Definitely your best bet.

Owlerton were there in our hour of need and we must be eternally thankful, but let's be brutally honest, it's far from ideal, as you've seen in this thread with Alan deciding against coming to the game. We are hearing positive noises about the new stadium, let's hope it is up and ready to go sooner rather than later.

We did however, win one award voted for bt some of the Leigh fans....the worst ground they have ever visited.

I must make something clear on here. My post about not visiting Owlerton today is not intended to be disrespectful to the Sheffield Eagles club, directors, players, or supporters. I'm fully aware of the dilemma you faced this season, and look forward to the day you can play out of a brand new stadium. Let's face it, Don Valley had it's 'bad points' - especially for someone with eye-sight as bad as mine!

Barlow has looked good every time he's played for us, don't worry about that.

That was embarrassing, beaten in every phase of the game. Leigh even seemed to know the dimensions of the ground better than us. Some major changes are needed and not just on the playing side either.

After what I witnessed today, that ground should not have safety certificate and some staff need to be replaced imediately. The reaction of some of the staff when member of the crowd was in need of critical medical help was appalling. Hold your heads in shame Owlerton.

Well Charlie didn't see this result coming , I expected a Mighty Leythers win , but not with such ease

, we outplayed you in every dept ,Owlerton is not up to much though, a very poor ground , even compared to DV , However the Seagulls performance today was not good , even your Drummer didn't get a chance to bang his drum

We were awful, they were brilliant, but it's all somewhat insignificant in the cold light of day. Pray the Leigh supporter is ok.
