Hi I was just wondering do any of you watch any other sports in the off season the reason why i am asking is because i attended my first rugby union match at Sheffield RUFC up at Totley on Saturday. I was mainly there for the beer as they had a beer festival in a marquee adjacent to the pitch but there was a first team match on so i watched that supping my beer i know Sheffield RUFC play at a low level in the RU Competition Structure but my overall impression was not very good play it is a lot slower with scrums rucks and kicking at goal at every opportunity (a bit like bately lol) line outs were fun to watch but i would not want them in Rugby League to be honest I think Rugby league is a far superior game but i guess i am preaching to the converted.I see Rotherham has started the season well so might go to Clifton Lane in the coming weeks to see union at a higher level

Football, bit of ice hockey and plenty of cricket on tv.

Tried RU numerous times but it just bores me.

GAA but their season's much the same as ours.

Tried soccer but it just bores me. Union could be a good game if they'd tweak a few rules. Couple less players, none of this netball stuff, a lot less penalty offences you can kick goals from, play the ball instead of this stupid rucking business, sensible scoring system (say, 4 for a try, 2 for a conversion or penalty, 1 for a drop goal) ..... should be decent for starters.

RU doesn't really interest me but i did go to see rotherham titans a couple of times a few years back as i lived about two streets away from clifton lane at the time if you do go there make sure you help to get the shed rocking. There's some good people there but RU is just not for me

Mate - you can't rely on Sport England - they've no idea what a sport is, they just want to build their empire.

For me - darts is as much a sport as Model Aircraft Flying and, funnily enough, Sport England agree with me.

Probably true, but if archery, weightlifting, horses trotting to Phil Collins songs and shooting can be Olympic sports, darts should be as well!

Maybe we should just look at what shouldn't be at the Olympics, rather than what should be.

Citius, Altius, Fortius - not sure how darts and clay pigeon shooting fit into that motto.

If my doctor told me I needed exercise, I wouldn't say "OK - I'll take up darts and model aircraft flying."

There is a very good Winter Circus at the Tower in Blackpool , very reasonable prices , some crowd participation , come and see Charlie and the boys .
