| Things starting to look a bit clearer now. There are some remote mathematical possibilities left but it looks like us and Fev home to Fax and Leigh (not necessarily in that order).
Batley look like being fifth and the other three teams in the bottom half will come from Dons, Dewsbury, Whitehaven and Workington.

| With just 3 games left and 3 points in the lead if we lose to featherstone by 13 points or more and both teams win their remaining games we will be tied i cant find out the tiebreaker anywhere i presume it will be head to head record which would be tied i would presume next step would be point difference does anybody know for certain ?

| Points difference is taken into account first, if thats the same it is points scored, if thats the same i think it is drawn lots.
(I don't think head to head record comes into it, unless it has changed recently)

| Actually, Rule B3:5
The Club with the highest number of points shall be at the top and the Club with the lowest shall be at the bottom. Where Clubs have an equal number of points their relative positions shall be determined by points difference so that the Club having the greater points difference is placed above the Club with the lesser points difference. The points difference is calculated by subtracting the points scored against the Club from the points scored by the Club. If that still
leads to a tie then the Club with the greater points percentage during the Season will be placed in the higher position. The points percentage is calculated by dividing the number of points scored by a Club by the number of points it concedes and multiplying by 100. If positions are still level, then the Club which scores the most tries in the league competition in a Season shall be placed higher, if the positions are still level, then the Club which scores the most goals shall be placed higher, if the positions are still level then the Club which scores the most drop goals. If the positions are still equal, positions will be determined by the toss of a coin which shall be carried out at such time and place as the RFL shall direct and those Clubs concerned shall be entitled to
witness the toss.

| In a not so interesting twist, I'm on holiday from Friday 6 September to Sunday 15. If we're at home in week 1 on a thursday night and win, then we wouldn't play in week 2. Therefore I could go on holiday and not miss a game. Alternatively we could be at home on the Friday and lose, and then lose in week 2, and i'd miss both!

I like this rule.
Firstly, if points difference is equal, then it's the team that scores least points that is the higher placed at the top of the table but it's the team that scores the most points that wins out at the bottom of the table. Marvellous !!!
Secondly, If points difference is equal, points percentage is equal, tries are equal and goals are equal, then I'm pretty dam sure that drop goals are going to be equal too.
The one exception to all this is if points difference is zero. So we've got a rule specially for that highly unlikely situation.

You've pointed pointed out all the stuff I thoguht too...now if we can see it why can't they?
Rewarding the least points scored is very strange?

I pointed it out to the RFL a few years ago. Apart from not needing a calculator, it's counter intuitive. Ask the bloke on the street who doesn't actually know and the chances are he'll tell you the second tiebreak is points scored. I don't think the RFL even understood the point I was making at all.
It's not just about rewarding least points, is it ? It's about rewarding least points sometimes and most points at other times. The problem is that it's the second tiebreak - it only matters when points differences are equal.
Still, I can hear you say, not likely to happen over a twenty-six game season is it ? But then we have the World Cup coming up with it's three team, three game groups ......

The way the format goes, you're likely to play the same team in weeks one and three. Which, imho is a serious weakness of the system.

I'm sure that'll get good viewing figures, what with there being an England International Football World Cup Qualifier on another channel.
