| I'm not saying that it would have made any difference to the score line, but how neutral was LSV in the semis yesterday 8 - 12 miles from the JJB, (depending which way yo go), 212 miles or so from The Stoop.
Finding a more central venue (ie somewhere around Leicester) would be a non-starter but what was wrong with Bramall Lane, which at least would more neutral than playing in your neighbour's back yard. Still that's typical of the RFL.

| It's not Wiggin's ground and it's not Broncos, so it's neutral.
Both teams will have wanted to maximize the profit on the game. Playing it in Leigh almost certainly made economic sense.
If they'd played it in - say - Leicester, probably no more Broncos fans would have gone and a lot less Wiggin fans. And that's setting aside the question of ground hire costs, upon which we have no information.

| It was a bit harsh on london but with 6 thousand and odd there on wigans doorstep it was probably justified financially speaking
Griff is right if it was held somewhere else there wouldn't have been many more london fans and alot less wigan fans

Maybe or maybe not who knows? I just think that for a neutral venue to be so near to one of the competing clubs is a little unfair on the other club. I just looked up Salford and that is nor much further from Wigan than Leigh is. So c'est la vie, time to move on.
Over 10,000 to see Hull/Warington and what a nail biter it was. Well done Hull to ensure a Yorkshire presence at the Final
Great win also by Swinton over Featherstone this afternoon - I didn't expect that one. Level on points but we have a winnable game in hand.

Very true if it had been us I wouldn't have been too happy TBH and credit to those london fans that did go, I think the RFL just looked at it purely from a financial point of view which was unfair on london but i suspect they were desperate for the biggest crowd they could get to show the ccup is alive and well
The Hull/Warrington semi was an absolute belter and i hope hull can do the business at wembley

| Not the first time something like this has happened. Leeds have played in semi finals at Elland Road before now and that's a damn site closer to Headingley than LSV is to DWS. Not saying it was the right or wrong decision yesterday, just pointing out similar things have happened in the past.

| Pretty sure that the Pies have played a semi at the Reebok previously, not much difference in terms of mileage to the LSV.

| I know it's O/T but years and years ago we spent a whole tutorial discussing "How Wet is Water" No idea now what conclusions we came to but to use a well known cliche "It's all water under the bridge now".
Sorry about that - I'll get my coat.
PS pure water is neutral.

| You could get the chance to re-visit this topic yet - imagine if Sheffield end up playing Leigh at LSV in the Grand Final?!
Mind you, with your play-off record there.........

| I think Leigh are a great club and if the final was anywhere else I'd be rooting for a Sheffield v Leigh final, just think it would be embarrassing for the sport if it was played at one of the participants' home ground though.
Obviously through no fault of Leigh, and the LSV is a fantastic facility. Just another Red Hall brainfart.

Probably no need to worry.
- Halifax did the decent thing in the NRC, by getting knocked out in the first round, purely to avoid the embarrassment of playing a final at home.
- And we haven't won a single play-off game since 2004!!
