Didn't realise it stated in the rules that you could smash somebodies face into the ground!!!

All he did was pick him up smash him on the ground,like 99% of most tackles,Unfortunatly his head hit the ground first,Surely that is not an offence,pure accidental.Shouldnt have even been a penalty.

Jeez, get your blinkers off! It's a tough sport and sometimes it goes OTT. This was one of those occassions. The video evidence supports a guilty verdict, the panel agreed and with a degree of irony, so did the sheffield fans sat across the aisle from me at the game.

He made a dangerous tackle and rightfully got a ban. It's not the Brinxx Matt robbery is it?

Menzie is a legend but can be a liability at times, picks up a couple of bans every season for dangerous tackles, suppose it comes with the territory of such a big hitter, especially with his style of tackling, hardly textbook.

It's a conspiracy,Not bad though three games suspended in 3 seasons for sombody who is a jukebox and soft as a brush.

About 20 years ago Brandan Tuuta played for Fev and now has 'legend' status!
His defensive style and aggression in the tackle left him with a reputation that kept coming back to haunt him at each disciplinary hearing.
He once broke Heslop's jaw (Oldham) and the sound of the punch he threw at him was shuddering.
He his regarded with hero status for all his efforts at Fev but I can't ever recall him being carded when he didn't deserve it - and nor would I have defended him.

Yere is of a similar style. Big and aggressive in the tackle that leaves little tolerance for error without it being borderline at least, and so it proved with the tackle on Heppy.

What's is of relevance is that the disciplinary panel agree, as do most of the sheffield fans I know, (tho I accept that's not many)- and trust me, Heppy certainly does!!!

It was a crap tackle that Yere got wrong Richie. Nowt more than that. You know it, I know it and despite his protestations on Yere's behalf (I would expect any coach worth his salt to do likewise), the Tubster knows it!
1-2 matches is about right I think. If his track record had been a bit tidier, I think he may have got a one game ban. I wouldn't have moaned at that either.

I agree with you, it was a bad tackle and the video seems to back that up, he deserved a ban, one game would've maybe sufficed but don't think we can have too many grumbles. We'll certainly miss him, will probably mean Misi playing in the centres alongside Corey Hanson with Jonny at fullback.

Incidentally RFF, how do you see the first week of the playoffs panning out? Who would you prefer to see go through?

Sheffield will hammer Widnes. They are pants. The heart and soul of that squad went some time ago - the whole club is gearing up for next season and see what's left of the championship as a hinderance they can't wait to dispense with.
Batley v Fax is another matter. Batley have the upper hand over fax BUT, Fax are the big game team and have proved it so often against us. Difficult to call. I sincerely hope Batley win as any team winning the GF would be prefered than fax, - but, I think Fax will win it.
Then it's you lot v Fax. Depends which Sheffield team turns up but I don't think either of them will beat Leigh in the final qualifier.
If it's Fax v Fev in the final qualifier if we fail to beat Leigh next thursday, there will be a niggle in everyone's mind....... a niggle at this point I do not want to adress - my blood pressure isn't up to it.
