It must have occurred to Fev at half time that they were top of the league and they played accordingly. Little chip kicks and numerous off loads, when they worked, ran Eagles defence so ragged that I'm not sure whether they were on this earth or Fuller's. There cannot be any arguments about the result.

I didn't think we were that bad to be honest, in fact I thought we were excellent first half. Second half Fev clicked though and, as I said in the OP, when Fev and Leigh play like they can no one else in the league can really compete. We just tired quicker than they did which led to missed tackles and Fev's efficiency punished us.

I'm quite happy if I'm honest. We acquitted ourselves well early on and deserved the lead we had. Fev bided their time and in the end the class shone through.

The man in the middle was rather inconsistent, especially with the play-the-ball speed. Numerous errors both way but I'm not blaming him. It was a tough game to ref.

I almost feel horrible, but Dane is gradually winning me over. His recent performances (after the Fev away debacle) have been much improved. Keep it up.

Mr Powell got his tactics against us correct and I believe they will go on to win the final, I hope they do.

But as I say im happy with how we played, must stop that indiscipline that's creeping back in.

Unable to attend today due to attending a wedding, from this board and ours it sounds a game of two halves sheffield deserving of their half time lead but then ripped apart by us in the second

Ripped apart?? Sounds like we absolutely hammered them and a 22-0 second half does back that up. But it just didn't feel like that.
True, they scored one good try in the first half and another length of the field try from another kick where we didn't apply enough safety to the catcher who slipped the defence and went 90+ metres to score. Other than those efforts Sheffield looked impotent in attack in the second half as we completed our sets with a better %, finny's kicking kept em back and when they did get close our defence remained solid. As Sheffield tired, a fresh Andy Kain came on and injected some pace into the proceedings and the off loads particularly from Tommy which were going anywhere in the 1st half started to stick in the 2nd.
Ripped apart??? Despite what the scoreline suggests, I wouldn't say that. Sheffield remained stoic in defence as far as they could - it's just that we had too many guns for them in the end.

They should be on Eagles TV in the next few days mate.

A lot of points in the last ten minutes or so ... I was disappointed because I thought the first half was a cracking game.

We need Widnes to lose on Sunday if we're to grab a home game but if we win by 10 or more, the bonus point won't matter.

The first half was indeed a good game from a Sheff perspective. We had a very poor completion rate and looked so sterile close to the Sheff line. They had cracking line speed and played the ref's ten very well. They got in our lads faces and the frustrations began to show. Sheffield scored a fabulously worked try and tho the length of the field kick return looked spectacular, there was the element of error from us and luck to sheff - but they all need scoring!

The second half came round Richie - Sheffield faded, Kirk got the ball wider and those off-loads started to stick whilst in attack Sheff now looked as impotent as we did in the 1st half. Then Kainy came on - match won.

Ripped apart?? Didn't look or feel like that to me at least. Typical game v sheff. Sometimes you have to graft and win however ugly is may look. The final score had a very lop-sided look to it that didn't adequately reflect the game.
