In the past it was always decided after the season about contracts and players rarely given more than one year deals,The previous 2 or 3 seasons weve already had players signed up for the following year by now,Think a few players got two year contracts etc,The question is why has there been no news,Have the contracts not been handed out yet?Is there a change in policy?
I fear we may lose a few players if they all runout at the sametime and are not offered anything before the end of season.Menzie signed a 3 year,he has 1 left,All the others i believe have run-out in October.Maybe Mitch has a year left.

I assume the board has to look at the projected income for next year first and then work out how much they can spend etc.

I would imagine (especially what's happened in the business world over the last 2 days) that many clubs, Eagles included will not want to spend more on salaries than they did last year even accounting for the salary cap.

Another balancing act wil be the cost of season and day match tickets. I think most clubs charge £14 on the day but many fans may user the spare £1 to buy a golden gamble. If it goes to £15 then they may not but I suppose clubs could think well we've got the extra quid anyway.

But as HL says I think this club has learned not to go public on anything until the ink on the players signature has fully dried

Ah - but there's VAT on admission fees but not on Golden Gambles or programmes.
