Yeah it's looking increasingly like they aren't going to be in our division next year, which is a shame. Although I've only been once it was one of the best weekends I've ever had, pesky exams dictated that I couldn't go this year, which is disappointing as it looks like it could be the last opportunity. Oh well.

I hope they are still about next year so I can hopefully go to a game over there! Went to watch Saints play Catalan a few years ago, spent a few days near the coast then the weekend in Perpignian, was great!

Relegation to the French League. Their three year term is up at the end of 2011. It costs the RFL about £15000 to send a team over, x12 games £180000 so is it worth the money ? It might add interest to the competition but does it add money to the gate ? Probably not.

Having said that, the RFL haven't sorted out a new sponsor yet. The sponsor might like the idea of Toulouse and pay for them to be in. Or, more likely, not.

No decisions are going to be made without a sponsor coming along.

Think you're being quite conservative with those estimates, and don't forget match officials and of course Toulouse's away games!

I went to Perpignan the week after Toulouse last season, stayed in France/Spain for two and a half weeks and Perpignan was the only place I was a bit cold. Very windy.

Spoke to the Co-op rep this weekend, so I reckon they're pretty accurate, pal.

There are only two match officials, the ref and match commissioner. Les juges de touche et l'arbitre remplaçant sont français.

Toulouse pay their own costs, though they do get a cut of the sponsorship money, just like the rest of us.

Same as I heard that the French body (RFL) will not subsidise Toulouse's travel to the UK and don't allow the RFL to give them any money either thus meaning that Toulouse fund their own travel within their existing budget.

The RFL do pay for UK teams to visit Toulouse and as Griff points out this isn't cheap and in the existing ecomomic climate the numbers don't add up.

It will be a shame if they do go back into the French league as as people can see by the numerous posts it's a great weekend for a variety of reasons.

I don't think the Toulouse inclusion has worked and I can see them making a return to the French League. There has been the idea of an Aude side being put forward for the Championships but I don't think that will cone to fruition.

There's little or no travelling support for obvious reasons. It's one thing for Toulouse to get a hundred or two travelling supporters on an annual jolly but you can't expect Toulouse supporters to come over to England once a fortnight.

How many Catalan fans travel to England every fortnight?
