| From the start it would have to be Derek Bridgeman. Moving on, Tubbs and then a certain Mr D Powell come into play, Cooky also. Paul Carr and the mighty Was kept things lively. Gamma, say no more. Since our re-birth, Tubbs (again) Johnny Woodcock, Jack, Brendan, Mitch, Misi and loads more besides. Blimey, god knows how many Eagles legends there have been. Who are yours? Forgot about Iva Ropati.

| Menzie is my favourite ever player I reckon. Brendon an absolute modern day Eagles legend. Obviously Tubbs, then from before Paul Carr and Keith Senior. The left hand side of Hay/Ford/McLarron in the 06 promotion season was insanely productive.

| Bloody hell what a question,where do we start?,In the earlier days i used to love Bruce Mcguire what a hardman,Paul Carr,Sam Panapa and off course Mark Gamson used to smoke 20 fags a day followed by 8 pints after the match,Always remember his two tries to win against Saints,A player with limited ability but played consistently in super league aand became a big favourite,Theres loads really,Brief spell but Dave Watson was a character,Out of the current crop,For entertainment you cant look no further than Menzie,Tangi,Misi etc,Used to like Rob worrincy he was good to watch I can see an all-time Eagles thread coming on

What's that got to do with your favourite player ?
It's not necessarily the best player technically.

Because ESO mentioned Hay/Ford/McLarron being insanely productive in 06 - I can't see them being as good as that against the SL opposition of the 90s or the current CC opponents. It's pretty easy to look good against London Skolars.
If you are looking at players who you want to watch, and who are top quality, Menzie has to be up there.

I didn't say the Hay/Ford/McLarron combination was insanely productive and it would also be insanely productive in super league, obviously it wouldn't, I was just making the point that I enjoyed watching them play.

Imagine Szostak/Menzie/Finigan against that same opposition.

| I don't think you're getting the point Tim I'm not denying that we've had more skilled left flanks, I'm just saying I enjoyed watching them for their sheer productivity and scoring power, every time the ball went down the left that season you felt four points were imminent. That's not to say Szostak/Menzie/Finigan wouldn't have also scored a lot of tries in NL2, or that Hay/Ford/McLarron would be as effective at this level, I'm just simply (or apparently not so simply ) making the point that I enjoyed watching them play and score tries.

I know, it's just that I think that you have to weigh up who they're playing against when you consider them in a single list.
Obviously that's just me and I'll shut up.
You could possibly break the Eagles history into separate eras and pick some from each.
How about:
Early years (84-90): Didn't really see any of this, can't say
Pre-Super League(91-95): Tubbs/Powell
Super League: Keef Senior, Hardy, Shaw, Sovatabua
NFP/NL2: Weller, Bruce, O'Reilly
CC: Yere, Stringer, Howieson

| For me it's;
02-05 - Poynter & Bruce
2006 - Ford, Worrincy & Gav Brown
07-10 - Lindsay, Woodcock, Jack, Mitch & Menzie
(I know that's being greedy, but the last 4 seasons have been so awesome for a fan from 2002)
For Tina it's;
Was, Worrincy, Woodcock, Lindsay & Yere.

| Rob Worrincy was always exciting to watch, and not always in a good way!
He blotted his copybook a bit when he left but I still chat to him when I see him. It's only a game after all. I even spoke to Mr Barlow!

Yes Mark, Gav Brown. Did a lot for us at scrum-half & hooker and directed the team well during that period, bearing in mind we were in NL2.

| During our early years after reforming Gav Brown was indeed a top player and steading influence both on and off the pitch. Could have done with a stronger kick but a very under estimated player.
From the mid nineties Nick Grimoldby. Stong as an ox. Also in the mould of Hendo in that he allways wore the head gear.

| Another one. Jeff Hardy. 1st time around. Widnes, the then world champs ABSOLUTELY TONKED at Bramall Lane. Seem to recall Mycoe getting stretchered off.
Strange to see hardy back at the Eagles about 10 years later. Although Hardy didn't play too many games before returning to oz, for me he played a massive part in the Eagles team of the early nineties.
