| £15.00 I thought football prices were crazy £15.00 for a semi-professional rugby league which is really a glorified friendly,They wonder why they only get a man and his dog attending,In general the clubs need to look at the pricing structure,The attendances below super league are terrible,Theres no imagination in selling the product anymore,Are all the clubs just run by dinosaurs,The Eagles season ticket is great value but matchday prices are rather on the high side and few people who have never been before will not just turn up and pay that (League in general),Im sure there would be a bit enthusiasm for a pie, pint and a ticket for a tenner in Gateshead Might get a few more in,Create better atmosphere,Certain clubs are stuck in the dark ages.

| The trick is to set a price that maximises your gate money.
Would ten at £5 be better than five at £15 ?
The game costs a lot of money to run and virtually every club is alrady makijng losses. There's not much room to take financial risks.
Mind you, it doesn't help when people play down the NR Cup. Describing it as a "glorified friendly" isn't going to make folk rush to the game.

But let's be honest Griff, that's essentially what it is.

| Its the coaches that seem to be having the idea of these rail games being friendlies,The Eagles not had one pre-season game,I would like it to be treated seriously but it seems as though were treating it as a warm up and a selection process ready for the 1st league game,Still £15 is scandalous,I know clubs lose money but they dont seem to be making an effort to increase there fan base or there revenue, rather just rest on there laurels and think it will come to them when it actually wont, plenty of other entertainment out there,Theyve got to entice people in and at £15 no chance.

| You've both got valid points. For me all home fans should have a season ticket as like said above it's excellent value compared to the match day price. The match day walk up price is based on away fans. £15 isn't ideal but is a lot better than £29 for footy.

| But is a season ticket good for the club's profits ?
It's looking as though this may well be the last season of the Northern Rail groups format but, for the time being, we have to run with it. While we have it, there's no sense in saying how cr@p it is and then being surprised when nobody turns up. It's all self fulfilling.
And yes, I agree we need more people through the gate. We've got a great stadium at Bramall Lane and we all have about 20 seats apiece. But dropping prices across the board isn't the right answer. It just makes your product look valueless.

| Sorry just saying some clubs are in the dark ages, i know we have a brilliant youth & community set up among others and setting up a new website, online shop etc but some aspects need to be improve instead of having a go at other clubs. Apologies for the slight dig @ the club...

Sorry to butt in on your board, Surely when teams like Gateshead which arn't local by any means charge £15 to get in + cost of transport ( petrol, train or Supporters coach ), A couple of pints and some food your talking a shed load of money to go and watch a Championship one team. Its no wonder support is dropping off, If i was setting the price for a NR match, especially the first game of the season to a team 2 hours away it would be a attractive proposition. £10 to me is reasonable.
Swinton is only charging £10 to season ticket holders of Fax, £5 for salford season ticket holders and £5 for swinton season ticket holders.
£15 - Someone is having their Stand and deliver !

| Two years ago when we played at Gateshead they run an offer where they gave out loads of free tickets. There was about 3000 people there. That's all good for free but the big thing is how do you keep that custom coming back?

Quite. You don't want to create a situation where people will only come if it's for nowt.
