I note that Rochdale(in Lancashire) has put in a bid for a world cup game (final probably)

but thought I would ask the question - are we having a go to - England - Aus at the lane would be good!

The World Cup Darts should actually be the World Pint Pot Darts - the only cups involved are the fat b*gger players bras



Back to main though - would be nice to get a game at the Lane and a fairly big game too. I also hope that there is a chance that the stadium can put on a good show by getting a big game before the World Cup - i.e. CCC semi?

Well said AE. The Lane would be a fantastic venue for a CCC semi. Rochdale have specifically applied to host the Ireland v Fiji game because of the strong connections in the town with both countries. Perhaps we should host all the PNG games.

The darts world cup throws up more upsets than the rugby league world cup, as Hillsborough Lad knows all too well!

I'm not sure who would make the application i.e. Eagles or SUFC. I suspect the latter with advice from the Eagles.

Being realistic I wouldn't expect an England game or Australia, but NZ being reigning World Champs vs PNG would be a coup but I settle for any game really.

Hope to get a big group game like that and also one of the semi's here to maybe..32,000 i'm sure with the right ticketing and promotion could get 28,000 in the lane for a semi final.

Also i hope NZ or another big country choose Sheffield as there base whilst there here for the RLWC.
