Michael Steele, chairman of Halifax RLFC, has sent a letter of apology to Sheffield Eagles in which he acknowledges that the judgement of Halifax RLFC to play Sam was morally wrong and Sheffield has accepted that apology.

So by settling out of court they've admitted guilt. Shame we can't unring the bell, the RFL have every right to throw the book at them, followed by the bookcase, then the library, brick by brick.

I like the "morally" comment, now how about an apology for the behaviour at the said game.

I wonder if an apology would have been forthcoming had they lost the Grand Final?

Can you explain, and give examples of what rules have been broken? Halifax have admitted moral wrongness, not any rule breaks.

I would expected that any letter sent would have been "without prejudice" and is no admittance of guilt.

I do think that any money Sheffield have accepted out of court will ne lost from any gate receipts next season.

I only hope that we star you in several cup games, at your gaff, which will increase your losses in gate receipts.
