I found a bar in Zakynthos that actually shows Rugby League. Watched Catalan v Rhinos, Wigan v Rhinos (wtg Rhinos - Kevin Sunfield DG worth its weight in whatever) and St Helens v Warrington but sadly they didn't have the one that mattered. Fortunately my son Matthew kept updating me. Congratulations, great win and pleased as punch for everyone at the club.

PS have you ever tried watching RL in a 6 TV bar, 5 of them showing soccer matches from various parts of Europe at the same time as a karaoke evening is under way? Couldn't hear any commentary at all.That of course may have been a good thing.

I was in Zankynthos for the Halifax away game in the league (though I suspect we were in different parts!), one of only two games I missed this year (Donny in the NRC).

Not giving away any secrets here but Pat (my wife) & I got well and truly pickled, after we heard that Eagles had won, on one of the peasant wines. Drank 2 litres between us and only paid €3.50 (around £2.80). Some hangover next day though but as it was worth it.

I can't drive speedboats in 40c heat though then cool off in the Ionian Sea.

That's why we go mid to late September when it is only around 25 - 30c. Even then I don't drive speedboats - pedalos are more our thing now. What all this has to do with the play off final I have no idea but I suppose it gives us something to do in the close season.

Just watched the DVD again,Getting the buzz again,What a defensive effort,Few mentions for a few unsung heroes,Couldnt really tell at the time but watching it back,Peter Green was awesome when on the field,constant drives making yards and tackling his heart out,same goes for Higgins some barnstorming runs,Knowles marshalling everyone around the park,He got MOM but Mitch Stringer ran him close what a game he had,every tackle it took 3 or 4 to get him down,Fantastic servant and you could just tell he really wanted it,If your ever down,put the DVD off the match on and it will be bring you back up again,What a day,What a result,Wonder who's missing the Samoan flag?
