I'm really not sure which way this one will go. Eagles certainly seem to save their best performances for the big games. I can see Fev winning but it wouldn't surprise me if Eagles really cut loose and dismantle Fev just like they've done to Fax &Leigh in the league this year. Either way, the two best sides in the division I'm sure will put on a great game on Wednesday.

I thought that there would be over 3000 there for the game given the way the club had promoted the game and publicly stated it at the begining of this thread.

I'd have said that 3890 looked about right, there was easily 1600 more there than there was the previous Thursday when we played Whitehaven.

Can you imagine what it was like when there was over 17,000 in the ground for a game against Saints?

Maybe catch you in the Whistling Wren for a beer before the GF, if both clubs get to the final.

Yes I can - several times in the late 50s and early 60s a few of us used to go to Post Office Road as it was then called. The ground was little more than railway sleepers on top of slag, a few crush barriers and a tiny stand. Visits from the big clubs (Wigan, Saints, Leeds and Wakefield) would regularly attract crowds of over 10000. You didn't have much room to move!

At the time it used to be said that the "stadium" could accommodate the whole population of Fev. That wouldn't surprise me at all.

It's still called that, Greybeard. There's a sign over the door that says so. Not been "updated".

The stand opposite the camera has 1600 seats and the main stand 800, the one opposite the camera wasnt full but if you take the 2/300 from hospitality it would be the main stand was rammed thats 2400 to start with. There was easily 1400 behind the goals and in the corners. cant understand why people think there wasnt that many in the ground
