DescriptionRugby League under floodlights at the Grange Road Stadium.
Cambridge have enjoyed a successful league season, and are in full training for the Varsity Match. Exeter have established themselves as one of the leading sides in the country, and are about to embark on a tilt at the national title.
For both clubs, this game is a vital part of their preparations. An exciting and tough encounter is promised.
For the home side, the rare honour of a night game at Grange Road has been granted as they prepare for the televised Varsity match under the floodlights at The Stoop, home of the Harlequins.
The bigger and louder the crowd at Grange Road, the better the preparation for the match with the Dark Blues. But Exeter are not simply travelling for an evening out.. Cambridge knocked Exeter out of the BUCS Championship last season, so the visitors will be out to make a mark!
Played against Exeter in a charity 10`s comp for help the heros last
year, very very good skilful side. Top bunch of lads aswel.
Shame im no-where near otherwise it`l of been a good game to watch.
Actually not the first time they've played there actually !!
From the CUARLFC website
"This is the first time League has been played under the lights at Grange Road and follows the first ever game of rugby league three years ago against the touring Nanterre University team."
I'd forgotten I'd been to Grange Road many years ago for a game of football so it won't be my first visit after all.
